Humberto Soto vs. Urbano Antillon

Round 1

Soto takes about thirty seconds of circling and getting tagged with glancing blows to settle into a rhythm, circling and scraping Antillon's face up with jabs and straight rights. Antillon keeps smashing his hook toward Soto's body, often hitting just elbow. Hard double jab to the face by Soto. Antillon has his chin tucked and gloves up and is just coming forward looking to pin Soto against the ropes and work his body. Soto gets his arm trapped and is thrown to the ground violently by Antillon. Soto responds with a double jab and a right hand to the body that strays almost below the belt. Antillon hits him in the same area and is warned by the ref. Big right hand to the chin by Soto while backing up. Antillon shoves him against the ropes and Soto fights his way off, using the uppercut very well.

Round 2

Antillon is out jabbing hard to the body. Soto is squeezing his shoulders together to make himself a small target and putting his head into Antillon's chest, then pulling the chair out from under him and blasting away with quick combos. Antillon keeps trying to dig to the body and Soto is backed into a corner but landing better in the exchanges. Antillon continues to thud away to the body while Soto headhunts with his faster hands. Soto is moving quite well. Antillon hops along after him, waiting until he's up close to throw hard body shots. Their heads come together accidentally and the referee checks for blood on either. There is none. Soto is springing on his toes in either direction and jabbing nicely. Antillon finally catches him against the ropes with a double hook to the chin and body. Soto is punching his way back to mid-range, using his own hooks and uppercuts. Good action.

Soto is firmly in control, but some of those body shots are visibly affecting him. That could become a problem.

 

Round 3

Soto is moving and quickly changing directions every second or so, using jabs and uppercuts as Antillon just plods forward and plugs away with his fists trained on Soto's ribs and chin. Soto is outlanding him by a pretty wide margin. BIG combo by Soto, finishing with a right. A moment later he buries a massive hook into the right ear of Antillon. Soto is now teeing off, weaving jabs and uppercuts together and keeping Antillon from throwing anything. When Soto slows down Antillon begins to pick up his own pace with those left hooks to the body, getting Soto against the ropes. Soto spins him and now whacks Antillon against the ropes in a little role reversal. HARD shots landing all over Antillon's face but he walks his way off the ropes. Soto is backed up by a hard jab.
