In hindsight, Khan’s record is impressive

Khan's record and future is balanced in his next three fights. We should give him the benefit of the doubt for now. I was surprised by how easy he beat Kotelnik.

I'd genuinely love to believe the move to 140 has solved his chin problems but I'm far from convinced. People like to point to De La Hoya and Cotto as examples of fighters moving up who improved their punch resistance. When you look at the circumstances it reveals a rather glib comparison.

When DLH was making 130 and even 135 toward the end, he would train for the last few weeks on a diet of oranges and egg whites. Cotto was dehydrating himself to a dangerous degree when he was making 140. I think it's fair to say Khan was not putting himself under this kind of stress when making 135.

Whilst I will concede he was a big lightweight I don't think the move to 140 was due to an inability to do 135. Whilst he looked good at 140 (for the record I think he should stay there) he admitted himself the move was a strategic one rather than one of necessity.

It would probably stand Amir in good stead to take on Maidana and show us he can live with a heavy hitting pressure fighter. It's a fight I think he can win but nothing in Khan's career thus far suggests he will take a conventional, idealistic route.

The Hatton bout is a fight I support, however, and if it can be made then let's get it on. It would be a fantastic spectacle for British boxing and something that's sorely needed.

You obviously dont understand Queensbury rules or WBA/WBO rules.
