Packard annoyed me so much on this site I stopped posting and went to other boards. Mayweather is and should remembered as the best fighter of his time and they tried to take it from him without him losing in the ring just as they did Roy Jones when HOpkins best the more beloved Trinidad. People need to stop being blinded by media and actually WAtch fights with no biased for either fighter. Mannys best wins don't include a prime opponent, Floyd beat prime Hatton corrales Castillo Ortiz as well as near prime Marquez and genero Hernandez all after big wins and great precious immediate outings matchmaking blinded Mannys fans with help from the media that many was better than he was....an athletic brawler with speed and power great heart and a HOFer who struggled with fighters who were not face first brawlers....what he never was was the best fighter of his era in threats etc

We just might never know. Style makes fight. But I believe he could have pulled it against Money.

P4P is not about hindsight, it's about what you've done in your division lately. When Floyd left, Manny was P4P king, and one could argue JMM should have taken the spot once or twice. JMM and Morales, two fellow all time greats, are the only ones who competed with him. It was Manny's time just as Erik's was ending, and JMM is the only one since to compete like that with him.

Pac deserved his p4p #1 status for the period he had it. It's not all about staying undefeated.

I always had it as the person who won most recently was the P4P king.

EDIT: I approve of the man above me's avatar. May might be good, but no ones ****ing with the Rubberbandits :D

You are right it's not about staying undefeated but yo stop being the best you have to leave and not come back or actually lose which Mayweather came back
Clearly defeated Manus closest rival who he never ever beat without a doubt and continued beating people after big wins COtton Mosley Ortiz unlike many who best guys after bad showings loses and ko defeats....what IM saying is when we saw Mayweather keep his form he was still the best and proved it many many didn't

Ali wAs the best because he proved by beating his closest rival clearly beat fighters Frazier couldn't beat foreman and proved he was the best in his era beating his opponents in or near their prime....manny did not do that Mayweather did....his only close fight he clearly beat his rival in the rematch Castillo...Mayweather is the best fighter of his generation face it...who had beaten 11 champs in a row remained undefeated and beat all his opponents clear Mayweather did the rightful p4p and best of his era next p4p will be Andre ward and had said it for years the skill their and the resume I's almost there

A couple of years ago when Mayweather was "retired" then he was p4p undisputed.

However, he never was p4p n#1 when Mayweather was active.

Please don't talk about periods. The word is clearly foreign to the OP. Reading his posts is like solving a Rubix Cube.

Again, another Mayweather fan acting like JMM beating Pac translates to Mayweather > Pac. Pathetic.
