would beat Anderson Silva 7 or 8 times on 10, since he likes to give his chim sometimes lol.

It would be by Lay n Pray style, but I feel Arona is the worst matchup for a beast like Anderson Silva.
Super strong fighter, great takedown, great top control, wouldnt get subbed by ANderson on his back. But Anderson could very well knock him out, since Arona didnt like to tuck his chin lol. But he still has a very good chin.

    Agree or disagree?
Arona is one of the rare guys that I would bet on him to beat Anderson Silva, in his shape of Pride.

Arona was a **** striker. Forget about it. Even at 205 Silva eats him up. Arona has a weird stand up style with his chin high in the air screaming for a KO. He didnt have the best chin in the world either.

I'm talking about his wrestling and top control game who would give him fits. Arona was a physical beast back then. Once Arona gets a hand on Silva, he is going down. Arona had probably the best takedown in the game minus GSP.

Who says he's going to be able to get a hand on Silva?

    I agree pretty strongly.

For everybody talking about how bad his striking is, so what? Silva is not a significantly better striker than Overeem, if he is even as good of a striker.

Arona absolutley ****ed Overeem's world up; he also has some of the best combination of takedowns and guard pulling when neccesary in the division.

Silva is more than capable of winning obviously, but Arona is the perfect fighter to beat him.

You would.. Overeem doesnt have half the ground game of Silva. Remember what happened when Rua tried to strike with Rua? He got knocked out. The same happened Soko and his second fight with Wandy. Arona is no can by any means but i dont see how he's the perfect fighter to beat Silva at all.

The only thing i see beating Silva is excellent BJJ. Arona is a great wrestler with good control from the mount but i dont see how that is enough to beat a legit striker like Silva.

Arona's stand up was poor, but he had very good leg kicks which would help him control the distance for a while. No way does Anderson sprawl Arona he gonna get put on his back and stay there (Arona took down Hendo easily). Anderson may be a bjj blackbelt but Arona's bjj is leagues better look at what Lutter was able to do. Anderson probably won't be able to get up or sweep Arona due to his positioning which is what made him dominate ADCC. (Nobody scored a point against him including Machado, Saulo, Tito, Monson and Ricco)

With Anderson fearing Arona's takedown he is less likely to be very aggressive like he was against Leites. Arona is a terrible style for Anderson who would beat Silva 7 or 8/10 times. Anderson said himself that Filho could beat whether he was being generous is debatable but clearly that style of fighter would cause him problems. People think Anderson is unbeatable but if a quality bjj guy with strong takedown can get him down and keep him down they can beat him. Look at the Lutter fight he got taken down his guard got passed easy and mounted and had Travis had some cardio and not jumped at the first chance of an armbar he could have pulled it off.

Perfect style of fighter, if not the actual perfect guy.

You say you can only see BJJ beating him; well nobody has a significantly better BJJ game than Arona, plus Arona actually has the means of getting the fight to the ground, which a lot of the guys with similar quality BJJ games don't.
