Walcott stopping the Ali-Liston II fight and calling a KO.

In fact, the behavior of the three protagonists (Ali, Liston and Walcott) was strange and disastrous ... The whole fight was suspected...

Kid Gavilan v Peter Waterman I
Jake LaMotta v Robert Villemain I
    Art Aragon Chuck Davey

The above 3 fights are noteworthy because in all 3 instances the commissions actually did their job and suspended or revoked the licenses of the officials who voted for the obvious loser. We could use a commission like these today. Unfortunately, as in the Nevada commission after the first Pac-Bradley fight, all they did was immediately give the bad judges plum assignments such as the case of CJ Ross, who went on to score the Mayweather-Canelo fight a draw. That's a good slap on the wrist.

The worst decision in a bout that I have ever seen, amateur or pro, was Park Si-Hun W (split)-3 over Roy Jones, Jr. in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. Park Si-Hun was being badly outclassed during every moment of that bout.

Worst I've seen in a UK ring was John Conteh's 'draw' with Jesse Burnett. Conteh won two rounds out of the ten in my eyes, maybe three on a good day. He was also knocked down in two of the seven / eight rounds he lost, being saved the bell both times. Abysmal.

Internationally, most of the obvious examples have been used but I thought Reggie Johnson was treated very poorly in his first fight against Jorge Castro. Reggie boxed pretty much within himself but still ran out a clear winner, something like 116-112 (could even have been a slither wider) for my money. Home town cooking all the way, with Castro's cornermen allowed to be up on the ring apron bellowing at Castro / the referee during rounds without being warned.

Okay it probably wasn't among the "worst" decisions of all time, but 14 of 21 reporters at ringside gave the fight to Charles.

I may be at odds with many here, but the first Antuofermo-Minter fight I had scored 145-141 for Vito or 8-5-2 in rounds but the 14th scored 10-8 due to what was scored as a knockdown. Incidentally, I didn't agree with scoring it as a knockdown (thought it was more of a punch/push), but a judge is obligated once the ref scores it that way.

Are they? I didn't think a judge was obligated to score it any way other than what he/she felt was appropriate.

I'm unclear on the language in this instance. Can a judge disagree with a ref ruling? And conversely, can he score a knockdown if the ref rules a slip and the judge in question had a better view? Again, I'm not sure.

For those of you saying Tiberi vs Toney, I thought Toney won that fight..I think Montell Griffin's two wins over Toney deserve to be on here.. Lewis vs Holyfield 1 gets my vote, Lewis boxed a great fight and dominated no where near a draw....

Now I love Toney to death - one of my favorite fighters of all time. I also do think he's been harshly treated by the judges two or three times in his career. But Tiberi clearly beat him. Toney has never been the most gracious, so when even he admits that he lost that fight as he finally did in 2008, you know he lost!
