In how many heavyweight era's would Tony Thompson be a champion?

    And the fact that they came against other super heavyweights with assets of their own, like power punching southpaw Luis Ortiz. People seemingly don't understand the fact that the man did not get the big matches when he was in or near his prime and his resume is lacking because of it.

    His better wins earlier in his career were mostly eliminators of some kind or the other. You’d be surprised at how many heavyweights will avoid matches with 6’5 southpaw contentders if not guaranteed a title shot or big purse.

    Thomson was a decent HW looked good in weak era.A mark wills or Quick tillis type of guy good but not good enough .A poor mans Oliver McCall.

    I can't imagine Thompson wouldn't be able to duplicate most of McCall's better wins. Stopping Maskaev, beating Akiwande, Saleta, a 45 year old Larry Holmes? I don't see what Thompson couldn't duplicate, outside of the win McCall has over Lewis.

    McCall was a different class .Hammered Damiani KO ed Akinwade.Both those two beat Thomson .you already mentioned Lewis.

    Tony is favorite against several champions of the 80.90, and 2000.
    Tony is UNDERRATED here
