Well since Marciano isn't a heavyweight and never beat any heavyweights. The only era where he could win a belt and go undefeated is a era where the mob controlled boxing and he could fight a 170 to 190 pound guys who were past their prime.

Even then he would lose unless he got gift decisions lik he did against Ted Lowry and Roland LaStarza. Any era from the 60's to today Marciano would be considered a club fighter and he would be knocked out by even average modern sized heavyweights.

I think you're being harsh in your assessment of Marciano but I do agree that it would be much harder for him to replicate a 49-0 undisputed champ run in other decades.

I think that it required a bit of luck to do it in his own era, but there are others where he might do it with a measure of luck.

It would not just be a matter of coming along in the right decade, but also the right part for the decade.

For example he would be unlikely to do it in the early 70s, but he might well have done it in the late 70s.

    He "could" do it in the 1950s, 1940s, 1930s, 1920s, 1910s, 1900s, 1890s, 1880s ...

From about 1960 on ... no.

He could do it today in theory.

Say he unifies CW and moves up for one big fight against the undisputed champion and catches him at the right time.

No the thing is I am not some moron living in some fantasy world with Marciano's man part in my mouth like Marciano fans are. Marciano never beat anybody who was in their primes and considered great. Even at his own weight class. Marciano never fought anybody in his career who would be considered a modern size heavyweight. But he could beat them because is Marciano right? The rules that apply to everybody else doesn't apply to him because his silly fans don't want to accecpt Marciano is trash.

Even a joke fighter like Charles Martin would knock out Marciano in 1 round because Charles Martin is actually a heavyweight. A 6'6 240 pound fighter and not some 5'10 180 pound cruiserweight.

From the 60's on I can't see Marciano beating any top 100 fighter from that Era. Even in the decades you named he wouldn't Unless the mob controlled boxing then and he avoided fighting any decent fighter like he did when he did box. But if he fought anybody who wasn't a bum even in the those eras he would of lost.

If Marciano couldn't even beat guys like Ted Lowry and Roland LaStarza who were average fighters then there is no way he could even beat a half way decent cruiserweight. Hell I don't see Marciano beating guys like Sergei Kovalav. Kovalev is way better than Lowry and a bigger puncher. He Lowry would almost knock Marciano out (and would if he didn't care Marciano) Then I see no reason Sergei couldn't.

Name all the "anybodies" who weren't bums from 1880 to 1950 who you'd take to beat him? There were a ton of fighters who weren't bums, so you should be able to list hundreds who'd whip Marciano.

So, since you don't believe he could beat any cruiserweight champs - like Ossie Ocasio, Ricky Parkey, Marvin Camel, Piet Crous, Magne Havne, Markus Bott and Alfonso Ratliff -- name same of their half-decent contenders who you'd take to beat Marciano?

Here, I'll help you get started.

Does Bash Ali beat Rocky Marciano? Bash was halfway decent.

Yes Martin is 240 but it's mostly flab because he's so out of shape. It was funny seeing his pathetic excuse for training in the Joshua build up. He also doesn't have the skills to take advantage of his size. He'd certainly rank among Marciano's weakest opponents.

    The 80s, 2000's, 2010's, 1910s, 1900s, 1890s, 1920s if he fought Dempsey at the right time.

This is all if Marciano fought a 7 year career of course.

But he could beat guys like Charles, Walcott, Moore and Louis so he might have half a chance against the CW men of today.
