Some of you guys have made reasonable points, and I guess we have to reevaluate the injury.

But I think the point stands: Dawson was the aggressor, made Hopkins uncomfortable and seemed very eager to keep the fight building, while Hopkins did everything he could to negate the action and ultimately went to the dirty tactics — only this time it backfired.

The question is what happens in the case of an overturned decision. Does Dawson rematch him, and does the public really care to see it? I sure don't.

I doubt the public wants to see a rematch. This wasn't BHOP/Pascal and I think everyone has been left with a bitter taste in their mouth.

He doesn't care about the good of the sport, never has.

He cares about squeezing as much easy money out of it as he can.

No doubt he was thinking "Fake injury, get a free paycheck tonight and guaranteed rematch with another paycheck"

Too bad for the old crook the ref wasn't having it.

I could be wrong but I got the feeling Hopkins was overselling it but I don't know. It would have been nice if the ref would have informed Hopkins of his decision and gave him 5 minutes to either go on or not. The fight should have been a ND/NC and I expect it will probably be overturned in the next few days. Having said that, I just don't want to see anymore of Hopkins, atleast on ppv. I was looking foward to this fight but can't help but to feel cheated by him.

I had written Hopkins off, from a viewing perspective, but the Pascal fights got me re-interested. Now, I'm back to not wanting to see him anymore. He's still relevant as far as name value and competing amongst the best but he is not from an entertainment standpoint. He's one of the greats of his generation and I've always been a fan but I hope his airtime is about done and I really hope Dawson moves onto someone else and not a rematch.

Remember the BS he pulled against Calzaghe to try and get him penalised/disqualified?

Hops isnt a warrior in the Marciano, Holyfield, Hagler, Leonard (for eg) type mode by any stretch.

STFU wimp. Hopkins has a style weakness to fast 2 handed fighters his own size.

We have seen Hopkins do similar before

Off the top of my head I can recall -
    1. Hopkins not being able to continue against R Allen for a NC
    2. Hopkins lying on the floor for a while against A Echoles
    3. Hopkins trying to fake injury to get time out against J Calzaghe
    4. Hopkins lying on the floor pretending Jones Jnrs punch was behind the head.

Now we have a similar scenario with Dawson

The ref did say "can you continue?". Hopkins said, "yeah with one arm" ref: no you can't fight with one arm, it's over" he also said to the commision people in the ring it's over. While the commentators were talking, you could hear the ref say and explain to people "He can't continue it's a TKO". Confusion but for what it's worth, that's how it went...

Why would hops fake his way out of a fight in round fukin 2. he wasn't losing, wasn't tired or hurt. Use some rationale here please. Dawson shouldn't be prison tackling
