    way way back...i used to love screensport...now anyone remember that, when barry mcguigan was a commentator, and a good one then too..
    had some cracking fights, all herbie hides early bouts, and eubanks {before he won a title}
    i'll never forget francis ampofo v robbie regan on it.
    but that went the way of setanta too.

    Didn't they have a square dish? I remember a lot of football clubs having problems when they went bust.

    Lee Mc made a good point earlair. It was only when Setanta came along and started making silly offers for fights that Sky back out of International boxing. It would not suprise me if in a month or so time we start seeing big US cards on Sky Sports once again.

    I'm not so sure, my memory might be playing tricks but hadn't Sky already started to go off the boil where live cards from America where concerned BEFORE Setanta came along?

    Yeah that's why setanta thought they'd push international boxing. Gave them a corner of the market sky and terrestrial hadn't taken.

    Like I say my memory is hazy but thats how I remember it. Sky had already pulled back on the American boxing and Setanta took advantage of this when they started up.

    The first fight that Setanta showed was Cotto vs Judah (in the build up to Hatton vs Collazo)

    In the year prior to that, on Sky Sports we saw;

    De La Hoya vs Mayweather
    Taylor vs Spinks
    Barerra vs Marquez
    Mosley v Collazo (delayed)
    Valuev v McCline (delayed)
    Taylor v Ouma
    Wright v Quartey
    Klitschko v Brock
    Mayweather v Baldomir
    Taylor v Wright

    In the year prior to Cotto vs Judah Sky did not show;

    Marquez v Vazquez (setanta never showed any of the 3 fights)
    Cotto v Urkal
    Barerra vs Pacquiao
    Casamayor v Corrales

    Setanta in there prime would of bought all the 4 fights they missed other than the Marquez trilogy which they shamefully ignored.

    They both showed a simular amount of fights and i seem to remember Setanta showing Pavlik vs Taylor 2 when sky had shown the first and both fighters previous couple of fights that Sky started pulling out.

    To be fair to sky if they pull out a line up of international fights like the list above in a year, along with adding to the domestic shows, i would be happy. nut we still want the bunce hour.

    Sky should spend some more money on boxing and less on football.

    Setanta got what they deserved, basically the TV companies have got away with getting people to pay more for the best stuff on a new channel or by ppv. The usual friday night fights on Sky now I hardly watch. What happened to the free World title fights every couple of months.

    Also the monopoly rules make the situation worse. It's supposed to protect consumers, it does this by getting them to have to subscribe to more than one provider at big £'s!
