I saw the Thrilla in Manila while on duty at Clark Airbase in the Philippines. I was exhausted at the end of the legendary battle, and the memory of the day will live forever. I always see the fight dated in October of 1975. Why? The fight was sometime before July of 1975. This is known to me because I was never in the Philippines after June of that year. Anyone else notice this? Anyone else know for sure? I'm old, but I know for sure that the date for this fight is widely erroneously posted.

Thanks for the response. I wouldn't dispute that you viewed this fight on a closed-circuit. Do you recall the time of day when you saw it? I remember distinctly how the fight came on LIVE TV just before noon. Had I known the rest of the world wouldn't see the fight for another two months, I coulda cleaned up! Eventually some one who viewed it live will support my contention about the date of the fight. I know there must have been 200 people crammed into the Officer's Club on Clark Airbase that day.

AliFight - As hard as it may seem, you are not confusing Joe BUGNER for Joe FRAZIER are you ? and MALAYSIA for MINILA ? the Frazier fight came after the Bugner Fight.
