The Guardian is reporting the sobering news that the popular fanboy excuse "Nobody in the UK knows Deontay Wilder" has died. The often-used excuse was three years old. Its death was confirmed Thursday by Eddie Hearn, the promoter for Anthony Joshua, as he explained why the upcoming Joshua-Alexander Povetkin fight at Wembley won't be a sellout. “We have had to work a bit harder this time,” said Hearn. “Normally when you go on sale with an Anthony Joshua fight it just goes ‘ping’ but it has been slower than Wladimir Klitschko and Joseph Parker. “The only thing that aggravates me is that anyone in boxing I have spoken to says it is a tough fight, whereas the man on the street goes to me: ‘When’s the [Deontay] Wilder fight?’ “If Povetkin had come over and tried to nut Joshua at the press conference we would have sold out immediately. Instead, there are a lot of people saying: ‘I will come in April for the Wilder fight.’” The news of the excuse's death was particularly jarring to Hearn because it is believed he had no interest in allowing Joshua to fight Wilder in April. The excuse is survived by roughly 100 UK fanboys on boxing message boards who refuse to quit beating a dead horse. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...xander-povetkin-will-not-sell-out-eddie-hearn
By comparison..... Klitschko-Joshua had 659,000 viewers on Showtime and 738,000 viewers on HBO. That's approximately 1,397,000 viewers in the US. There's approximately 325,700,000 people in the US. That means 0.4% of the US population knows and or cares about AJ. Eek!
They have been exposed for selling tickets directly on the secondary market and conning millions from the public, JOSHUA is slowly becoming exposed as a coward
Did Showtime and HBO both televise the fight? Competeing networks generally don't do that. Or did I read your post incorrectly?
They shared the rights for that match. AJ is with Showtime, Wlad was with HBO. So Showtime had the live broadcast in the afternoon, HBO got to replay it later that night.
Remember when people on this board insisted no one knew who Wilder was? He is literally the only fighter anyone wants to talk about now. Even to the point of bumping years old threads.
He's now famous of being a "great big dosser" that Fury knocked out twice. Also the lineal excuses champion.
