First off last night was a great heavyweight fight between two very good fighters that let it all out. But imo even though I was rooting for wilder? Fury won that fight by outboxing wilder. Wilder did almost had fury in the 12th but credit for fury to get back up. Now the way these 2 fought? Joshua wouldn't beat either 1 of those imo because lets face it is joshua a slick boxer like fury? Hell no in which joshua is there to be hit and hit cleanly in which I could see wilder getting too joshua early or in the mid rounds and I see fury easily outbox joshua to a decision win. For ppl say wilder should be embarrassed for getting outbox by a drug abuse retirement fighter in fury? Did fury fought like it? SMH
I view the three of them as appearing along the axis of Boxer to puncher, with Joshua in the middle with some qualities of either side. Joshua is less skilled than Tyson but he's a much better boxer than Wilder. He's not as quick or powerful as Wilder but he's a superior athlete to Fury. So I think if he has the right gameplan he can beat either of them. A fit and focussed Fury will be his toughest challenge. Or as I read on a blog elsewhere, Wilder is Joshua's Phy Ed final exam and Fury is his academic graduation exam.
Wilders got the speed but he hasnt got the skill. Would be an interesting fight with Joshua id favour the Brit because i put brains before brawn, especially when the brains also comes with brawn and Wilders brawn doesnt seem to come with brains. Fury could do to Joshua what he did to Wilder but make it look even easier, But Joshua is always thinking he wont make it as easy for Fury as Wilder did by just makin it easy doing the same old thing. Its how well Fury can adapt to Joshua adapting. This current trio though is a very interesting styles make fights type mix. I could say Joshua beats both Fury and Wilder, maybe he does, but just becasue of what they all do theres no guarantee the results are not reversed in any rematches. Wilder should be the runt of the trio but he was out on his feet in those later rounds, clueless, swinging away and he pulled out a monster of a combo right at the end. Wilder is going to be lethally dangerous right till the bitter end. Its a hell of weapon, a real equalizer. But because he is a lesser technical Boxer i see Joshua getting to Wilder 1st, quickest and more often. They are all pickem fights as far as im concerned, id pick a favourtie and it would never be Wilder but id never rule him out.
Yeah what a moron eh favouring the guy with most the belts against somebody who has 1 and another who has none. How outlandish. Crazy fool. Where as you feel i should be choosing the protected guy with 1 belt who really shouldnt have that belt, a guy with great power but somebody i keep seeing get outboxed.
i totally disagree. aj is the complete package: he can box and he can Punch. wilder cant box but he hits like a mule. fury can box but cant Punch. i think aj takes out wilder quick and wears down fury for a late round stoppage.
Very true. I think the boxing purists out there knew this already but the fight last night has really highlighted the point. It's always been very clear that AJ and his team know a Wilder or Fury fight will likely be a loss.
How I've seen it between these 3 is Fury gives Joshua the most trouble, Joshua gives Wilder the most trouble and Wilder gives Fury the most trouble. Joshua struggles with movement, because his movement is so poor. Fury is the more agile and mobile between Fury and Wilder and so he's the one of the 2 who's more likely to beat Joshua. Joshua is a monster toe to toe, he's too big, too powerful, too adept on the inside, not even Povetkin stayed on the inside with Joshua he went in and out, so Fury who will keep the fight at range and constantly change angles rarely standing in front of Joshua is the best foil for Joshua's strengths, while Wilder is too stationary and plays more to Joshua's strengths. Wilder is a tougher fight for Fury because of his size, speed, power and unpredictable style. Even though he was out boxed for almost every minute of every round he was still able out of the blue to launch a fast, powerful punch that dropped Fury twice. Joshua in comparison would find it harder to get to Fury. He'd be more methodical and more likely to break Fury down if he could get to him, but I think he struggles to get to him in the first place, so Wilder is the more dangerous fighter who's likely to get the stoppage to win, while Joshua would more likely gas chasing Fury and trying to press. Joshua is all wrong for Wilder. While he isn't as elusive or mobile as Fury he is still the far more skilled boxer and he has more power which would make it far more dangerous for Wilder to try and just bomb him out, he couldn't be as reckless vs Joshua as he was with Fury. Joshua is the more skilled fighter and has shown he's more effective at applying his power sooner in fights, we saw that in their fights vs Molina and Gavern, it's unlikely Wilder figures out Joshua first and lands his bombs before Joshua does, based off of what we've seen. Even if Wilder does land his bomb first, Joshua showed vs Wlad he can take a shot and get up and Wilder showed vs Fury when he windmills in after dropping an opponent he can be countered. Imagine if it had been Joshua landing the shots that Fury landed after being dropped. Everything I've see points to Joshua KOing Wilder.
I think AJ handles Fury, stops him inside the distance around 7-8th round. I think Wilder stops AJ, AJ doesn’t have the defense, foot speed, or head movement to confuse Wilder the way Fury did. I think Fury will beat Wilder 6 out of 10 times. Styles make fights but all three are strong fighters and their styles make for an interesting division.
