    Ruslan Chagaev.

I just rewatched Klitschko-Chagaev, and I have to say that while Klitschko did beat him pretty much every round, Chagaev made a damn good effort. He kept Wlad missing a lot and showed fantastic head movement. He had a hard time with Wlad's speed, however.

I think Chagaev could actually stand a much better chance against Vitali if that fight would ever happen, as Vitali is significantly slower and doesn't take the half-step back that Wlad often does.

Yeah but you forgot that Vitali has a granite chin unlike Wlad. Chagaev would have a hard time with Vitali's toughness and awkwardness too. So Chagaev's face would prob wind up looking like just like Arreola's.

no offense mate, but you do not seem confident in this. and nor am i.

chagaev vs. arreola, - now there is a REALLY good fight. be interesting to see the outcome of that. those 2 are about equal in my opinion.

HELL NO. Chagaev gets knocked out midway, you joking?

Arreola is the only one who was able to push hardest because he had the chin, Chagaev gets KO'd. I don't give anyone a good enough chance out there, no one. MIGHT be Povetkin but that's it and Povetkin doesn't hit as hard as Arreola.

Just because Arreola was able to land some doesn't mean all can. The rest fall in the Sam Peter level except for Povetkin.

Match Chagev with Tua or Arreola. A good test for either.

Vitali would defeat Chagaev. But a KD or KO are not granted. Chagaev was down the first time in his pro career in his fight with Wlad. And Wlad jabs harder than Vitali.

I assume a TKO by Vitali in the late rounds, when he repeated his brother's tactics of keeping Chagaev at bay with his jab for most of the fight.

Chagaev fought like a startled rabbit against Wladimir.

What tells you he would fare any different against the other brother?

Because I saw absolutely nothing to suggest he could beat any top 5 fighter right now. I'd favour Eddie Chambers and Haye over him easily.

I would love to see Chagaev get a final shot at the WBA belt, maybe after Ruiz had his shot against the Winner of Haye/Valuev. Chagaev should stay busy and fight some kind of WBA eliminator to earn his shot, now would be the perfect time.

Chagaev is a good solid fighter, but doesn't have any outstanding attributes. Skills, speed, power, chin, it's all decent but not great. For a fighter who gives up 6 inches in height to Vitali to have a chance, outstanding speed and movement would be required.
