Would he have to fight 100 plus absolute no hopers to pad out his record to look more impressive like they used to

In less than 2 years Armstrong won the lineal titles from featherweight to welterweight. No catchweights, no paper titles, no steroids.
    Pacquaio couldn't carry his jockstrap.

I have perceived a slight against an old timer and thus you shall be dismissed as a heretic henceforth.

Kind of agree actually. It's pointless comparing fighters from such vastly different times imo.

Loads of fights back in the day were just sanctioned sparring. Adjust Manny's record accordingly and his true record is like 320 - 15

Or maybe be ....46-0 with over 20 title defenses being the GOAT of that division. Lol

It's true, taking nothing at all away from the 2 fighters I named, they are truly great but naming anyone in the same ball park as them is blasphemy, when if you filter the chap they fought from their record you will get a more clear and accurate reading of what their record would be.
No way pac or anyone these days would be sanctioned to fight the no names they did back then

I am sure Armstrong would have liked fighting twice a year on PPV and making tens of millions of dollars doing so, but as it stands, fighters needed to make money back then too so they fought a lot of stay busy fights in-between their title defenses. Nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with it at all and you are 100% right, just the fact that if you mention other fighters in the same breath as them you get laughed at because they won well over 100 fights when that shouldn't be a factor

Manny wouldn't have to do too much to be on their level resume wise. Robinson and Armstrong had about 40-45 title fights and he's had something like 33. He'd need about ten more title fights. In there, he'd probably have to beat the likes of Mayweather, Thurman, Khan, Brook, Crawford, Spence, Porter, and Canelo and then he might be in their league. If he just cleaned out welter and knocked off a top junior middle like Canelo, Lara, or Andrade. If he beat the current crop of fighters and the best of the generation coming up, he would be up there with Robinson.

The opportunities are there for anyone to be the best of all time, but most people don't have the ambition to push themselves and achieve it.

Resume is the most important thing but the problem is, SRR in particular, fought a ridiculous amount of Hall of Famers and World Champions (when having a belt actually meant something).

Manny has done about as much as I could expect anyone from this era to do though.

There's hall of famers they were beating with 15+ defeats simply wouldn't be classed as hall of farmers today

No one "like pac" could ever compete with the elite of the atg'standings. Way too high a % losses and ktfo way too many times.

This board doesn't even let the fighter who fought and BEAT every top fighter from 130 to 154 that mattered WHILE going undefeated for 19 years compete.

If fmj can't compete in many eyes NO ONE can.
Way too many Homer's thinking athletes get worse by the decade

Pac isn't even the best fighter of his generation. Nobody thinks he is as great as those legends.
