I am not sure Tubbs was ever regarded the second Best in the world where as Dokes and Weaver definitely were. Tucker might not have been regarded second best as a belt holder but with hindsight he must have been during the Tyson era. Second best to prime Tyson puts Tucker ahead of the pack for me.

Tubbs in my opinion was possibly the poorest belt holder of the period. His big win was Bonecrusher Smith and Greg Page two fighters most contenders could beat on a good day at that point.

It's interesting how there seem to be two distinct schools of thought about the criteria - Nobody has Dokes 2nd. He's either first or last.

    Weaver
    Dokes
    Tucker.

Mike did the most with the least.Michael gets some kudos for coming back after his drug problems and making some last stands, but still finishes behind Weaver.Tony, after the Tyson loss, never managed to recapture what little form he had.

Weaver, KO'd Tate in the 15th, KO'd Coetzee, Had Holmes in trouble in a back & forth fight in a fight that gave him confidence but was never rematched dispute winning a title

Dokes, fast hands, had some good wins but strong push from King

Tucker, a decent fight with Tyson and a good sized heavy but could have been better

2nd 2 are close but I will go this way

    It's ...

    1. Weaver

    2. Dokes

    3. Tucker

In terms of record/achievement/'resume' it seems pretty clear-cut to me.

I agree, except I think Dokes and Tucker are pretty close.

in order of good. None of them are great. Tucker, Dokes, Weaver.. It is a tough one. Potential i think Tucker had the most, but Weaver had the most drive..

Dokes easily. If you were to replace the other two with Thomas and Witherspoon, it would raise the bar somewhat.

Weaver is the best. Followed by Tucker then Dokes and I could be swayed to say Tucker over Weaver.

    Wow very interesting.

Mike Weaver- accomplished more then the other two by far. Gave a prime Holmes hell for a little bit.
Knocked out John Tate who was being groomed to fight Holmes.
    Knocked out Gerrie.
    Knocked out Carl Williams
Beat Quick Tillis when he was really something.
True Dokes stopped him in a round but lets be honest - horrible stoppage. And I thought he beat Dokes in the rematch which was a draw.

Michael Dokes - one of my all-time favorites. My god what hand speed he had!!!
Out of the three EASILY the most talented.
    Beat Young. Beat Cobb.Beat Chaplin.
Won the title but didn't hold it long.
    Gave Holyfield a great fight.

Tony Tucker - Saw his fight with Buster live and you know what? Buster was beating him in my opinion and Tucker turned it up a notch and if I'm being honest Buster just quit.
Saw him fight Lemon Norris and Norris got ROBBED.
He was a capable fighter who was a good amateur but to me he always benifted from connections.
