In pure boxing terms what's the most competitive fight for de la Hoya right now?

I am all for the best to fight the best... I'll like to see him against Margo, Cotto, PW, Berto or Clottley.

    ODLH v Vernon Forrest

I reckon the Viper would beat him.

I think Winky. Normally Winky would beat him but since hes been away for ages it would be closer

Only problem is de la Hoya is not the best. He's a second tier fighter these days.

I think Mosley/DLH would be close and very exciting because they have lost some since they last fought.

Winky would kick his ass though. It won't be competitive. He'll just catch DLH's punches with his high guard and jab him to death.

Paul Williams. I know Oscar has a GREAT chin, but he's getting on, and I reckon Williams would stop him. He has a very good chin, and his handspeed and power are superior to Oscar's. Obviously in his prime DLH would've whipped Williams into shape and taught him more in 36 minutes than he knows now, but isn't the competitive DLH against prime Mosley, of the DLH that whupped Vargas, it's the DLH that has marked up by Steve Forbes, regardless of his comprehensive victory.

I think Marg might outwork Oscar too.

I've said it in other posts, Pac will beat DLH. He'll fight anyone regardless of money; the money is obviously massive for Pac but are you seriously thinking that he doesn't want to batter Oscar.

I'll hold my hands up if I'm wrong but I just have this feeling that Pacman might be THE boxer of this generation. I'm happy to be proved wrong, for Cotto to avenge his defeat to Margarito and go on to get better, or for Mayweather to come back out of retirement and beat both Marg and Williams, and just as happy for Calzaghe to go on and beat Jones, Pavlik and Dawson/Tarver.

But I don't think any of those things are going to happen. Pacman isn't shirking any big fights. I believe he'd be just as happy fighting Juan Diaz, Ricky Hatton or Edwin Valero.

Seriously though, if Mayweather really does help Hatton (you can't imagine Hatton having **** rounds when he's got Floyd Sr. cussing him can ya???) and Pacman beats DLH, can you imagine how much money Pac-Hatton at the new Wembley is gonna' make??? Will surely be the richest fight of all-time for a long time.

Margarito or Winky. DLH schools Williams much like he schooled Mayorga and much better than Quintana schooled Williams.

Oscar should fight Margo, Clottey, Winky, Cotto, Pavlik, Forrest or Williams.
But he won't. Not when he can shove money at guys like Chris john, Guzman, Valero, Juarez or Moliter would jump at the money. Yeah, why not? They weigh 130 lbs. or so and according to Oscar it would not be any trouble to add the poundage.Does anyone really believe he is going to fight anyone he should?? Except Uli of course.
