In real terms Amir is paying McCloskey out of his own pocket but he’s okay with that

IMO if they had a better opponent for Maidana it would be one of the best cards in recent years, don't want to see Morales get a beatdown. Really looking forward to this card.

If the fight has been binned then good, the whole thing has descended into farce. And for those of you blaming Khan cancelling, just remember Haye pulling the plug when Setanta collapsed.... But Khan should fight for free whilst Haye has the right to stage world title defenses against the likes of Fraudley? F*ckin hypocrites!!!!

Now if only Khan has the balls to take control of his career and sack all of those parasitic clowns in his management team and get in some people who know what they are doing...

It seems like Laz is the only one bringing facts up in this thread.

Correct me if I'm wrong but how is Reese and Macklin pulling out Khan's fault? Were the undercard fighters being underpaid?

It looked like a good card, albeit not PPV worthy, but these things happen in boxing from time to time.

Its not. What is their fault it their failure to dip into the pot and spend some of the potential earnings from the PPV to save that PPV.

Ticket sales does not equal fighters purse, big chunk of it goes to cover many of the venue expenses.

Can I assume that you have already been taken to task over this contradiction?

Perhaps Khan should just pull out of the fight completely and ensure McCloskey doesnt get a dime of Khans money!

Would bringing an old, fat Rahman over really have pursuaded Sky that the event was still PPV worthy?

How is it Khan's money? People need to realise that it takes two fighters to make revenue. The fact is that McClosky has added to the pot of money for this fight and it's Khan greed that is putting the fight at risk.

You would have to ask SKY that but if I was the Khan Kowboy Krew then when I heard the evenly matched undercard fights - Macklin-Gevor and Rees-Crolla - were not on the bill I would had my contigency plan into place and loosened the budget to compensate.

McCloskey isnt a household name and isnt a PPV fighter so a significant portion of the appeal of this PPV offering was on the undercard.

Maybe they should have choosen promoter with a deeper stable that could have filled vacant slots.

Also why wasnt Hatton's Mancunian Olympian on the bill? That one baffled me.
