I'm a Pacquiao fan, I won't deny it. At the same time, I'm legitimately worried that Pacquiao won't only be defeated during the 4th fight - but completely shut down. I don't want to talk predictions. I want to discuss what Pacquiao or Marquez would have to do in order to get the decisive nod. Pacquiao - I feel like despite his age, he's still many years younger than Marquez. I feel that if he wants to win this upcoming fight, he'd need to lose the immense amounts of respect he holds for Marquez. If he comes in with the fury he did in the first two fights, even if he isn't as quick or spry, he'd easily be capable of out-working Marquez's now aging body. I could imagine Marquez tiring simply from back-pedaling and trying to keep up with the exchanges. Despite both men likely getting damaged through this approach, Pacquiao upping his work-rate could overwhelm the aging Mexican fighter's now worn body. This could even potentially open up a possibility of a knock-down (I think a KO is out of the question). Marquez - Marquez fought extremely smart during the third fight. I couldn't pick a winner at the end of watching it live the first time, but came out with Marquez on top every subsequent time I watched with the commentary off. What made this such a close fight, however, I feel is the lack of follow-through on Marquez's part. Pacquiao would miss, Marquez would pelt Pacquiao with a handful of body/counter shots, then re-position himself. He wasn't willing to capitalize on the moments where he shocked and surprised Pacquiao. While I wouldn't suggest Marquez to trade, I feel if he decided to maintain the pressure after each successful counter-attack, he'd throw Pacquiao off balance. Pacquiao already reaches (and reaches even more for Marquez) for every punch. Countering and forcing him upon the backfoot could even force a knockdown on Marquez's part. This is assuming that Pacquiao comes forward, however. I still have my money on Marquez out-boxing Pacman. What are your thoughts and opinions? i've had the same thoughts(about pacquiao losing by landslide) i think an important strategy he could employ to win is avoid marquez fients by coming foward at a high pace, but since he runs out of stamina himself nowadays, not coming foward with combos, walk marquez down and look to counter with a lead left and weave to the right, or when marquez stands his ground throw jab to the head, left hand(whether uppercut or cross) to the body, he should focus on the body for the first 3 rounds so when he throws to the head it will be a shock to marquez another thing that seriously needs to be fixed in pacquiao style is his habit of leaning back when marquez goes into that low stance, can't be stressed enough, 80% of the big marquez right hands, come from exploiting that weakness marquez spends 3 rounds setting up his big punches, reason why he wins the middle rounds big, he's got pacquiao eating out of the palm of his hand, what marquez could do is actually counter more, i know people are going to be thinking "wtf? that's what he always does" but not in the third fight, the punches he landed where set up from fients, he was basically leading, even though yes, e had his moments of counters, i think he needs to dig deep and keep the pace he builds in the middle rounds, probabley alot to ask but, best bet to winning clearly
Yeah, I'm concerned too that he'll be badly outclassed. Just don't see enough in him to to solve JMM.
Maybe better in the long run. He's been boxing half-heartedly for 2 years now. And politics has completely shaved half of his attention in boxing. A Marquez humiliation would go a long way. Probably force him to retire earlier than expected.
Manny will get dominated. 8-4 UD for JMM. I told everyone last time that JMM was going to win. You can tell just by listening to them that they don't have any answers for JMM. Mommy Pac wants Manny to knock JMM in 2. Roach wants Manny to go for the knock out early. One thing we know is that JMM is going to give Manny movement and Manny is going to follow him around in straight lines instead of cutting off the ring. Roach is going to fail Manny big time in this fight and I see it as the end for Manny. Get ready for the cramps, Jinkee was pissed and slapped him and other excuses from team Pac bc JMM is going to dominate.
Manny is big favourite, i fear age will have caught up with JMM Remember Manny will be younger come fight night than JMM was when they fought in 2008.
Sadly this fight is probably the last time these two greats go at it. If Marquez is able to add a bit more power in those counters, it will be a bad day for Pacquiao.
Pacquiao will get out boxed.Marquez is a stylistic nightmare for Pacquiao.But this time Marquez will put the ICING on the cake and drop/stop Pacquiao.But if Marquez get's reckless he might be on h is back as well.Now if Pacquiao was smart he would invest in the body.But he wont and will be head hunting all night.
