It was just a wonderful event and everyone did a great job..... floyd was great entertainment, hatton was entertainment. The whole uk came out in full force to support the rick and the fight was pretty good...maybe it wasnt the greatest match up of all time but none the less it was just a wonderful event.....and even in the eve of the fight i think a lot of people had the fight 50 - 50 going in.... hbo did a wonderful job on the 24/7's and all in all it was great

in retrospect how do you feel about hatton vs floyd

    were you entertained?
did it live up to your expectations?
did your pick win or lose... etc etc

It was great until the bell sounded. Hatton got whooped too badly for it to build up tension.

It was a big event, and the 24/7 was entertaining in the leadup.

People clown on Floyd for taking this fight, but here we had an undefeated and legit welterweight champion, versus the also undefeated and legit jr. welterweight champion. You don't get too many undefeated champion versus champion fights. So while they're around you should appreciate what you're getting.

It was without a doubt one of the most exciting build-ups of all time.

In a lot of people's eyes you couldn't count out Hatton, shame the fight wasn't as competitive as it could've been, all the thins Hatton and his Camp were saying he wasn't going to do in the build-up he eventually did, however, to say he would've done better with a different trainer would take the sheen off of it; Graham and the Phoenix Camp made the buildup every bit as intriguing, and the clashof lives as well as the clash of styles is what captured the average man on the streets attention.

Great buildup, great event, this fight did have means to happen contrary to the belief of the guys who now have the benefit of hindsight, and the fight is still intriguing and competitive up to a point, and even then it's great to see Floyd putting on a show against an undeniably top-class opponent (regardless of weight)

Maybe Hatton can make amends and defeat Pac (although I strongly doubt it) though it will never mean as much as that fight did. Floyd vs. Hatton was absolutely monumental.

It was an event due to the extreme build-up and 24/7 and all but the fight itself was nothing close to epic.

The atmosphere was amazing and it was a great event. The fight itself was not as bad as some people say. Floyd was beating him on the inside and landing right hand leads like nothing. I think somewhere around the 8th when Floyd was putting his punches together and throwing combinations, that was boxing at its finest. The so called "check hook" was the icing on the cake.

Hatton didnt land much but he did make Floyd uncomfortable because he was on him all night like white on rice.

thats a great point.... to be honest also... if there was as many big money guys at jr welter.. as there was at welter at the time... im sure floyd would have sat around at jr welter

yeah this pretty much sums it up... it was an amazing fight

This is how all big fights should be built up. Mayweather had control of the fight from the first round. Very entertaining fight with a great ending.

its impossible for all big fights to be built up like this...

    you need the right personalities
you need the right fan bases
    you need the right styles

it would be great if every fight could be this exciting

The build up was great. The atmosphere was electric with the crowd signing. The fight although mostly one-sided was a masterclass performance by PBF.

when people say it was one sided ... i dont really agree

margarito vs shane was one sided
bhop vs pavlik was one sided
joe c vs roy was one sided

this fight was close in shades and floyd had the edge for most of the time.... then later in the fight floyd showed his caliber and started pulling away

It turned out to be a great fight. I think Floyd turned up the heat and wanted a KO because he had already stated he was taking 2 years off after the fight. It's funny how people discredit the win saying Hatton was too small. It's not unusual for a champion at one weight to move up and take on the champion at the next weight and no one cries about it. Floyd likes playing the the "bad guy" before fights and he's good at it. It's entertaining!
