I would not call Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Mqrgrito top fighters. Hatton maybe. Cotto is good but not top fighter. As for Clottey and Margarito their names and top fighter should not be in the same sentance let alone the same paragraph. As for Whitaker when he fought De La Hoya he was a much better boxer than Hatton, Cotto, Clottey and Mqrgrito were when they fought Pacquiao.

It's very well documented because everyone jumped on what Freddie said. What is going to draw more eyes to the web page? Nacho saying Oscar didn't have a weight problem the very day after the fight on *********** or Freddie Roach talking about how drastically dehydrated Oscar was that they used IVs?

And what I also feel comes down to how you define weight drained in this instance. I'm fully behind the idea that Oscar was shot. That's something Freddie said that I believe because if you become a part time fighter the way Oscar was and at his age, ring rust is very real and he wasn't exactly fighting fast, buzz saw type fighters in his final few fights. Manny was, as they said, shock and awe.

If Oscar's nutritionist was more concerned with cutting the weight with diet, Oscar probably weight 147 just walking around but still cut a few pounds to be sure. But that's all he was when he stepped into the ring was 147 and your body won't adjust to that in a hurry. I'm not going to deny that. But I don't think he was severely dehydrated otherwise I don't think they would have let him go out. Letting someone with barely any fluids is borderline criminal negligence, your brain will be shriveled and have nothing to cushion shock as it bounces around in your skull if you're that dehydrated.

Shot? Definitely, anyone who pretends he was anything close to prime should get checked out for late stage syphilis. He wasn't prime for Mayweather, either. Not used to the weight? Sure. Dehydrated? I don't think so.

I know what you said. Toney was in better shape to be in the ring that night than Oscar was period. Oscar looked lethargic, dried and dead. Not to mention a stationary fighter like Toney would always get schooled by a freak like Jones.

Get the **** out of here with this sorry ass ****, Calderon is solid but he isnt Mayweather and Oscar did very well with Floyd.
Honestly its the fault of Roach and Manny for demanding these catch weights if they didnt want to hear about a fighter being weight drained here are two things you do not do...

#1 Do not admit after your fighter won that Oscar was weight drained

#2 keep it ****ing real and stop demanding catch weights

if they did both this thread wouldnt even be in the forum

Pac whoops Oscar all day every day just deal with it. You don't understand Pac's style and skill level at all I remember you thought Pac would pull out of the Margarito fight because he was scared to lose.

Oscar did well with Floyd yet Roach was still confident enough to know that Pac would whoop his ass. Roach said before the fight how everytime he played the fight out in his mind he had Pac coming out a winner. Every time. And that was before the IV or any of that ****.

Roach himself said Oscar doesn't know how to cut off a ring well. He knew Pac would whoop Oscar's ass. The only reason they made Oscar come down from 150 to 147 is cause Pac came up from 135 to 147

    disagree.

    so did toney.

the toney of the barkley fight would be a nightmare for rjj.

toney at 175 or higher is a nightmare for rjj.

the only time toney surrenders meekly to rjj is the night they faced each other.

& any odlh loses to the pac that faced odlh that night.

I do respect Mannys talent but not enough to over rate it... I tend to stay in the real world when it comes down to it, great win but nothing to jump out of bed for early on a sunday morning.
