Aside from the fact he wasted his career facing part time sanitation workers and cops this is why I will never see him that high up on the ATG list. The first time Roy was caught "clean with a big shot" there was a pillow and blanket waiting for him on the canvas.

Every time a boxer steps into the ring we face adversity. Shade tree fans dont understand this and likely never will. maybe you should step into the ring once yourself and then you will realize how tough of a sport this really is. I dont mind the bagging for the most part the posters do on ESB, but every once in a while you idiots need reminded just how brutal this sport is from posters like me who have actually fought for many years.

So fighting a prime motivated Tarver completely weight drained and pulling out the victory in the last two rounds off of pure heart is not adversity?

I am not sure how good you boxing history is, but how many fighters can you name that dropped down from heavyweight to win the LHW title in their very next fight? I bet you they were all great fighters.

He beat Toney, Hopkins, fought while weight drained and convincingly defeated a very hungry Tarver yet he has not met adversity? Funny.

Untrue, DeValle dropped him hard earlier in his career and he got up to continue his spanking. Tarver caught him flush, he TRIED to get up. He was being pounded by Johnson for 8 rounds before he got caught.:verysad

He fought beautifullyu against Toney, did what was expected of him vs Hopkins (I) and of course he deserves credit for beating a mediocre but nonetheless heavyweight Ruiz...but he squandered most of his career fighting postmen, policeman and generally no-hopers...and I think it's laughable to thinbk he would beat greats like Monzon, Foster, Moore, etc., they'd all be troubled for a while by his speed, but each would ko him with their particular trademark power.

Yeah, I think that is correct.

I was going to say '******', but when you posted I realised that the poster's main problem is that they are gay as all ****.

Being gay can make people seem ******ed. So it all works out the same.

Roy faced adversity when he fought Tarver the first time and he still beat him. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Roy was gone after moving back down to Light Heavyweight from Heavyweight and still beat Tarver. Your avatar says a lot about you. "I'm a gorilla I'm a dawg"....huhuhuhuaaa shut the f*ck up, you ******! How does it feel to be thoroughly put in your place....b*tch.

    :good

It is crazy sometimes the things said here. Adversity? RJJ had been a boxer at the highest level of the game for how many years before he FINALLY was defeated?

Every time a guy goes in that gym and ring his body is taking punishment. To say a boxer like RJJ isn't an ATG or somehow is "weak" is just... :verysad

C'mon Jacory... Joenes beat a prime Toeney, Hopkinse, Virgil Hille etc. He pulled out the victory in his first fight with Antonioe Tarver whilst very weight drained.

That was not a prime Hopkins you idiot, that was a green Hopkins even Jones has admitted that, and no way was that a prime Hill, and Toney was weight drained with tons of out of the ring problems at the time, just like the excuses for Jones being weight drained for the 1st Tarver fight the same goes for Toney.Dude is speaking the truth that made this thread,Jones spent his prime being out of the ring circus act trying to hoop and **** get the **** out of here,he screwed his self by not challanging himself when he was in his prime and then when his reflexes diminshed boom he got ko'd by a guy that was the same age as him, besides Hopkins beat the **** out of Tarver and a undefeated Johnson, face it he is way overrated.
