No, Boxrec jock, he didn't "lose by KO", his corner pulled him and the referee allowed it. Basically the towel was thrown in. Nor was Johnson a "journeyman".

Try engaging your brain when you engage your laptop.

Griffin was a fine fighter. His performance in the first Toney fight was about the best performance i've seen from a pro with less than 15.

    I don't think so...

He has done too much with his boxing skills alone, some of the time totally out of shape...

When Roy beat him he was prime in my eyes. I actually gave him the fights against Griffin, but they were close fights.....

Toney still has all time great boxing technique, that has kept him going on long after his physical prime, Toney's credentials speak for themselves.

The man accomplished much before, and after Roy kicked his ass.

No, I like Mayweather... A lot actually as a fighter.

Jacorry Is totally obsessed with Mayweather though, to the point where he likes to see him in underwear, and even compliments the clothes he is wearing out of the ring.

I think Jones is the next American all time great fighter that Mayweather will pass in my eyes that has not yet... He loves Mayweather, and is dogging Roy... That is what I see anyway.

Ok,although i dont agree with you,i like Mayweather the fighter myself a very special defensive fighter and i thought Jones was a very special offensive fighter. But he was not built to be a great older fighter, but i think Floyd is,both of them are questionable in the heart and guts department, shown in how they have both ducked people over the years and picked and chose fights carfefully, but yes 2 great fighters with not oustanding resame's Roys coupled with the bad loses hurt him but Mayweather has a chance to improve his dramatically if he chooses.

:rofl:lol: I can't lie I did laugh when reading but my n!gga Jacory is right about that. Roy up until that point in the second Tarver fight had only got hit with a clean massive punch twice and both times he got knock down and knocked out.

    I agree..

What made Roy great was mostly super reflexes, which was his whole defense.. He did have heart though, and overcame adversity many times he got in the ring. Not the textbook defense that someone like Mayweather Hopkins and Toney has.

Roy was not built to be a good older fighter, and the age of 35 with slowing reflexes, was too late to relearn everything, way too late.

That in no way to me negates what the man actually accomplished while he was prime, and even after he was prime.

Roy was not built to be a great older fighter,

The right Ruiz landed in the first round, being 30 pounds heavier was a massive shot. Roy did ok with it..

If your ranking ATG status it does, many other great older fighters were still great,he's clearly not,and knowone was talking about he was past it until he got ko'd by Tarver but actually it was showing in the 1st fight, although i think he would have had problems with Tarver in his prime as well, seeing that he had problems with southpaws anyway, these things and his less than stellar resame a long with Tarver being his best opponent in the manner that he lost really counts against him.
