The Del Valle shot was hard and clean, landed, hurt him but he got up and won the fight easy. Would knock him out now.

The Ruiz shot landed clean, and would decapitate him now.

He never had a great chin, I would say average though, before his punch resistance went to **** with his reflexes.

 

People say the same thing about Hearns but he was in wars and got hit with ATG shots that would have knocked heavyweights out i've seen Hearns take bombs and give out a lot more bombs.

 

I actually think Tarver knocked a couple years off of him in the first fight when Roy was weight drained... Roy took some hard shots in that fight that would certainly clean his clock at this point.

I don't think Roy was shot in the second Tarver fight, but he was certainly past his best and got caught with a great shot..

After that I think Roy was pretty much done.

Roy is an all time great, no matter what you think. I think ATG 100 top fighters, not top 30. Although I have Roy inside the top 30 slightly, I think his status will increase after he retires and stops giving fans a fresh view of how bad he is compared to what he used to be.

Yes in the the 2nd Tarver fight Roy wasn't prime but he was still a good fighter, but after that knockout he turned to completely shot.

 

Ok fair enough to me ATG's are top 30,but i guess you have a point,I have him about 48th,maybe but i think he was trying to fill up his resame with big names at the end.

Jones took a fast spiral downward and Vlad slowly worked himself into the fighter everyone thought he had the potential to be.

Leonard failed in his last 2 fights, Holyfield also enjoyed adding his losses record.. Chavez later on was also beaten by someone like Willy Wise

some fighter has going downhill by mid 30 some still looks decent in their late 30's but you will be remembered for what you're capable off at your very best period.
