I would agree that Mayweather never looked as great as he did in the Corrales fight. It was an amazing performance, punctuated by a brutal KO. Classic stuff.

I always thought Mayweathers best performance was against Tony Pep. Tony Pep was a skilled verteran who very technically schooled and I watched some his fights, he looked like the type of fighter that would give a newbie boxer a hard time. I think Mayweather coming in was only 16-0 and only went past the 10th round once. But Mayweather dominated Pep, this was back then when Mayweather use to throw double left-hooks, and left hooks to the body. It was amazing how Mayweather dominated Tony Pep, it was even more amazing how dominated Genaro Hernandez in the same way. I think those two fights showcased how technically skilled Mayweather is.

Leonard came out flat-footed in round one. He didn't even TRY to dance at any point -- Duran did nothing in that ring that took Leonard off his gameplan, Leonard himself decided to try beating Duran at his own game. Unless you mean Duran got Leonard to do this due to the pre-fight mind games -- in that case I agree.

Damn... It didn't take long before it became a Duran vs Leonard ''what really happened'' thread...

I think Duran could have won that one....He sure as hell wasn't dimensional, see him boxing smartly against Hagler and Barkley...

He had probably the best defense ever for an offensive fighter, along with phenomenal feints. I can clearly see Duran feinting a hook just to have Mayweather go low and then suddenly transforming it into an uppercut.

Hatton on the inside just mauls and clinch, Duran was probably one of the 3 best inside fighters ever, along with Henry Armstrong and Chavez. Don't forget also, Duran was fast. To catch Ray Leonard and Esteban Dejesus flush, you had to be fast. He would be fast enough to catch Mayweather, I'm sure of that.

He also had a fantastic workrate, those 35 punches a round by Mayweather wouldn't be enough for him to win the fight against a monster like Duran.

Agreed. Duran's infighting was exceptional -- I love the way he constantly threw fients into the mix to keep the other guy guessing, the way he rolled with shots or slipped the ones to the head so easily, the intense body attacking he used to do, etc. And to top it off, he was fast, too, like you said. If he could keep up with Sugar Ray Leonard, he could sure as hell keep up with Floyd Mayweather and then some.

The way he turned his head from the shots and came back with a right hand....it's a thing of beauty.

I still feel that Floyd's biggest win is against De La Hoya. Because Oscar is so much bigger than Floyd, and it showed true skill to get through that.

The most impressive win is against Baldomir. Perfect night. Corrales is a close second.
