In terms of how brilliant these shots were in a technical sense....

...in what order would you rate these one shot knockouts? When I say "technical sense", I mean as far as accuracy, timing, ect...

Tarver's shot on Jones' in their 2nd fight
    Rahman's on Lewis
    Pacquiao's on Hatton
    Martinez's on Williams
    Donaire's on Montiel
    Marciano's on Walcott
    Donaire's on Darchinyan
    Hearns's on Duran

sorry about the odd number. It's all I can think of ATM. I also apologize for not putting them in order of occourance :D

    1. Donaire's over Montiel (One of the most accurate, fastest counters I have ever seen. The type of shots one could usually hit only a heavy bag with. Donaire was just waiting for it.)

    2. Pacquiao's on Hatton (Pacquiao didn't really have to time it, and it wasn't a counter, but the precision was perfect. Text book left hook.)

    3. Martinez's on Williams (great timing. Martinez wasn't looking, but he didn'y have to. He knew exactly where Williams' chin would be, and finally got max leverage on a shot he had already hit Williams with several times in the first AND second fight.)

    4. Rahman's on Lewis. (you can see Rahman focusing on Lewis' jaw. As Lewis backed up with his left hanging way too low, Rahman threw a right over it, and into Lewis' jaw.)

    5. Donaire's on Darchiniyan (great shot. Perfect timing)

    6. Marciano's on Walcott (not particularly impressive on a technical standpoint, but
props because Marciano was down on the cards.)

    7. Hearns on Duran (Hearns was just winging shots. He wasn't placing anything. No set up. Just throwing shots, and one happened to catch Duran.

    8. Tarver's on Jones (Tarver just closed his eyes and threw)

You know what would have made this thread even better?

If you posted the vids of each knockout, too. Some of them are just too close to call, and it would allow us to observe each of them properly, before deciding on an order.

Well, I figured most people on here are pretty knowledgeable, and would'nt have to see the vids. Gifs would be great, but I don't have any.

Hopkins vs Tito is the first that comes to mind

As of right now, 55 views and only 2 response...I guess people in here don't like discussing boxing unless Pac and PBF are involved. :conf

  7. Donaire's over Montiel is the one I still see in my nightmares.

He used the impact of the right hand from Montiel to boost his own left-hook counter.

    Absolutely ****ing incredible shot.

Hearns KO of Duran was definetly set up, to say it wasn't is silly.

You're done. The double jab to the body perfectly set up the right hand up top. It was a thing of beauty.

out of the list i'd say Donaire Montiel,
    or Hearns Duran.
Rahman Lewis was just a case of Lennox missing when
he was trying to parry with his left, and Rock shot
at just the right time, less a setup than kismet.
Donaire and Hearns were perfect setup shots.

1.) I thought this thread was from a technical standpoint?

2.) you serious? Hearns shot was a beautiful straight right hand set up by 2 left jabs to the body. From a technical standpoint its more fundamental then most of the others and I would rate it top 3.

I agree with your assessment of the Donaire blow though I love that punch, legendary stuff to do in a boxing ring nevermind against someone of the calibre of Montiel
