    Fair point.

But, not all that is written in the newspaper as a current source is in fact correct and most of history is not written in newspapers. Sometimes word of mouth from the fighters is more accurate than the many first hand quotes triumphantly bandied around on the internet.

The reality is that we dont really know one way or the other on most of these things what actually happened.

You would think he would have made up a better win though. He has the fight being stopped by police and harry greb being the agressor and throwing the most punches. I would have thought this is a Newspaper decision to Greb!

He may very well have been embellishing it and making it up, but he was doing it to prove that Greb and himself were larrikens, not that he could actually beat Greb.

You can believe it if you want but Walker was in no condition to fight anyone after Greb, especially not Greb. Maybe newspapers arent infallible but Walker, not the most reliable source, is the only person who ever told that story. Everyone who was with Greb that night denied ever seeing Walker that evening.

I didnt mean to imply that i believed this particular story should be believed. I have read yours (and others) evidence on the subject and i really dont think there is much chance of their being any truth to it. I was just pointing out that sometimes the word of a fighter can be better than print and the word of print not always as infallible as some think.

Nothing is impossile of course, but on this particular subject I am prepared to quote one of ESB's great posters.

    "Fact: It didnt happen."
