Bottom line Hopkins makes for dull fights for most part and while boxing hard core purist might love him they guy is just not in exciting fights.
While Pavlik has a very fan friendly style packs the house when ever he fights. In the long term Kelly will make more money then Hopkin's and have a larger fan base and be in much better fights in terms of action then Hopkins. Do any of guys really think that Hopkins vs Calzaghe 2 or Hopkins vs Jones 2 will be more action packed then Pavlik vs Rubio, Pavlik vs Duddy or Pavlik vs Abraham?:hat

Adding Rubio and Duddy to the Lockett list for title defenses wont make him more money than a legendary fighter like Hopkins......and I thought the fight the other day was very entertaining....Hopkins threw combos for the first time in 75 years and even used the Bolo punch......

Yeah, I agree. Pavlik is exciting, with a great work-ethic and power at MW, but I wonder how he'll fare against other top fighters now. If he drops a decision to Kessler or Bute or Abraham, or worse, gets ktfo, he's pretty much yesterday's news.

People tend to forget Hopkins was making about $200.000 tops per fight and fighting on Fox before the Trindad fight Hopkins at 26 was no were near the star Kelly is at 26:deal Long term I think Pavlik will do better then Hopkins money wise as well be in better fights:deal

He won't go undefeated for ten years. The fights will be more exciting and we might see him get put away.

This could happen, Loew said he's going back down to 160 but other than Abraham and Mundine the names are very poor....unless Williams fancies a shot

168 has all the names and unless Pavlik can adapt if his jab isn't working then he could lose again, but he's still very dangerous

But he got a deserved beating cos he only made one defense of his title and was badmouthing legends like Hopkins and Calzaghe....

It because of disrespect like this, is the reason pavlic lost. Hopkins was fighting in champion ship fights before Pavlic grew hair on his nuts and Hopkins just proved Pavlic can't hold his jock strap ..

Pavlic has 1 title defense to Hopkins 20 , let see him match that before he gets this so called larger fan base and more money, he won't make **** if he get school like that again, let alone even make half the title defenses that Hopkins has.

Pavlic needs to worry about holding up the proud tradition of being middle weight champion and his fan needs to be more respectful of a past great.

so show some respect, you ban wagon rubber necks.

The only way Pavlik could make more money than Hopkins has would be if he won the ****ing lottery jackpot. He's not got the style nor the ability, in my opinion, to carry on at the top for a long time. Hopkins has and that has earned him make an absolute fortune in the past few years.

He might be. Star Power doesn't = Greatness in the craft. Gatti is a bigger star then Winky Wright. Hopkins is a legend, one of the greatest ever no doubt about any of that, but does he really demand the love from his fans like he demands the respect? I'd say no. Pavlik's fans, Hattons fans, Gatti's fans, Tito's fans.....they love their fighter. It's fighters like these that become the real stars. Pavlik isn't on the level of the other 3 yet, but he could be.

Pavlik will be a second rate fighter who will catch more beatdowns once he's forced to move up to higher divsions and isn't able to pick on smaller guys. Pavlik will never be a bigger star than Hopkins. Abraham can beat him, as well as the top guys at 168 and 175.
