6 foot southpaw, 100 punches a round, pleasing to the purists and casuals, good personality

most importantly willing to and capable of fighting the best matches in 4/5 weight divisions

what a shame he's come along in this era of duckings, little coverage and alphabet straps. :verysad

Lamotta would have broke his ribs and sent him home early.

this thread is probably going to get ugly...... i agree tho

i would have loved to see him get a chance with the rest of 147 aside from margarito

edit: the crazy thing is ..... i dont think we have seen the best of paul yet... i still think he has more upside and we havent really seen a TRUE prime yet.... every fight since i have first seen him... he has gotten better and better

Or he could've been part of the Black Murderers Row and struggled to get big fights.

yer, he beats winky the other most avoided and they'll be lining up then

beating winky will putt them off even more, unless he destroys him and his profile increases so much that hbo force the fights, margarito turned downed his biggest payday ffs

and no way will he KO winky

If Williams loses to Winky, he can go back to 154, and dominate the division. If Williams beats Winky, the door to the house of middleweights will be wide open. That house is haunted by A Ghost who would obliterate Williams in 5 rounds.

well if he beats winky then he has no business going all the way back down in weight...and who else is left at mw?? im sure he could get the winner of aa v. pav (assuming that ever happens) or in the meantime he could go ahead and be the one who finally puts sturm out of his misery and get the other strap that aa or kelly is going to want. either way he gets on the fasttrack to a title shot in some form at MW IMO

 i agree...the door will be open but he may think twice before walking through it. but the point is he would at least have the opportunity

Sturm is not going to fight a version of Paul Williams that just beat Winky freaking Wright:nono

I'd pick Williams over Abraham anytime.

Paul's low gaurd and mediocre head movement mean KP would make the double-jab/right-hand work, and NOBODY survives that.

I could see Winky/Pavlik getting moved ahead of AA if Winky beats Williams. It's a bigger fight, worth more money. It's a much greater challenge, and Pavlik does not like Winky at all. If Williams wins, I think he'll just have to get in line. The Arum/Goosen feud is still going on.

yeah you are right about that. would you rather see the winky/williams winner fight pav instead of aa?? so much time has been spent on here talking about pav and aa but to be honest...i can't say for sure id rather watch pav v. aa instead of the winky/williams winner

i'd like to see him take aa out just on principle but still...

I'd rather see KP take care of business with Abraham first. Imagine how big Pavlik/Wright would be if KP has a recent win over AA, and Winky has a recent win over Williams!
