I remember ordering that show. What a sloppy fight.

When a guy scores a knockdown, he typically wins the round 10-8. When he scores two knockdowns in a round, he typically wins 10-7. If he scores three (and there's no three knockdown rule) he tends to win 10-6.

The obvious benefit of scoring knockdowns in DIFFERENT rounds is you get two 10-8 rounds (a four point advantage). In rounds where you score two knockdowns in a round, you tend to only get a three point advantage (10-7).

 

And in a wilder fight you get a 10 round swing LMAO

 

I wasn't scoring closely. And I haven't gone back and watched it again. I had Fury winning in my head either 8-4 or 7-5 in rounds.

With the two knockdowns, Fury either won 114-112 or it was a draw (113-113). (My wife was enraged Fury didn't get the win.)

I would've been happy with a Fury win, too. But those were hard knockdowns. They weren't flash knockdowns or in any way questionable. He floored him twice.

I'd love to see it again. I really enjoyed it.

That said, it was a rough night for me, because they are two of my favorite fighters. So I'd cheer when Wilder floored him, and I'd cheer when Fury got up. I was happy when Fury was outboxing him, but I'd be rooting for Wilder to punch.

I was a mess.

But, in the end, for selfish reasons, I was glad neither guy lost. I don't think either guy deserved to lose.

Nobody’s given an example yet. I brought up the Michael Moorer Holyfield bout 1 knockdown and the round was scored even by 2 of the 3 judges. Take it easy buttercup

I asked about the official rules of boxing that you refer to.
You said "the official rules is that a knockdown gives the guy 10-8, end of discussion."
I'm not saying you're wrong. But I don't know that you're correct either.
Point me in the direction of these "official rules" where it states exactly that.

Jonathon Barros was down in in the 1st and 9th to take a SD over Celestino Cabllero in a defense of the WBA belt which he would lose to Caballero by decision immediately after.
