In the history of boxing, this is the first time that I can remember a fighter.....

When Haye got injured or faked injury (don't know with this guy) before they were first scheduled to meet in June 2009, he wanted Wlad to wait another month. Now all of a sudden he doesn't think Wlad would be ready to fight with two months to prepare? Gimme a break. Haye doesn't want the fight. Now he is talking about retirement. Smart guy, he got some exposure at heavy on the back of the Klitschko name without having to fight them, made a few decent paydays and then got out before they gave him a beating. That had to be his plan all along.

That indicates it's a perfect tuneup with minimal risk. Considering it's such a big fight, wouldn't it make sense Wlad would want to go into it without a long layoff? Plus he's already been burnt by Haye having to put his plans on the backburner waiting around for him in 2009, only for Haye to pull out so close to the date. He'd be stupid to trust that Haye won't do that again.

I always doubted that Haye wanted the fight. He's just trying to make it look like Wlad wants no part of him this time around. I just hope nothing happens between april 30 to july 2. That is where it will get interesting. anything could happen then. Wlad could get injured in his fight with chisora even delaying the fight even more. But, his fans seem to think like he could pull it off. But, by then Haye would be long and gone

Perhaps, I just don't know why we're still talking about a Chisora fight when the contract was seemingly seconds away from being signed. Marco Antonio Barrera took a tune-up ahead of his fight with Amir Khan, against a journeyman, and he ended up suffering a cut from an accidental headbutt. These things can happen, but I'm not being dismissive of the points you raised. Haye shouldn't declare the fight off just because of a tune-up fight, he has every right to be pissed off and unhappy, but just have the fight signed after Chisora is dealt with in double quick time.

    Couple of points.

First off Haye and Booth have said for years he'd get out of the game at 30, this is nothing new, this is not "now talking about retirement".

Secondly show me where he says he's pulling out of the fight, or that the fight is off.:deal

I don't give a **** either way, and if the fight doesn't come off, I'll blame both of them.

But what happens if Chisora gets lucky and sparks Wlad? Would you be happy as Haye now Wlad has no belts on offer and is going in at 50/50 cut, and presumably losing a shitload of ticket and PPV sales?

How did it turn out for Judah having a fight against Baldomir after agreeing to a Mayweather fight?

Or even Chisora (who has bitten in the ring before) does something bat**** crazy, like biting, or trying to break Wlads arm or some other bizarre ****. What then? If Wlad's out for months after getting injured?

It really is up to Wlad IMO if that's what he wants to do. If I was Haye tho I'd be asking for penalty clauses up the wazoo if Wlad has to pull out due to injury or loses his belts against Chisora.

People don't remember the lead-up to Lennox Lewis vs. Mike Tyson?

    - Wlad and Haye were going to fight in July
    - Wlad says ok, sounds good. July it is.
    - Wlad then wants to take a fight in the meantime before that set date to meet Haye
    - Haye complains about this and calls off the fight

I really dont see how there is any other way to see this. I am not understanding the **** Wlad is taking over this unless its just from typical Klit haters. If anyone without bias and with some intelligence is looking at this, I guess I am not sure how they can be blaming Wlad here.

Wlad is not REPLACING Haye with Chisora, as so many people are going around spouting off about, he is fighting Chisora while WAITING for July to get here.

And this is somehow a problem....

Why is it a STRONG possibility that Wlad picks up some sort of injury against Chisora? For almost 7 years now, Wlad has completely dominated all of his opponents... presumably better opponents than Chisora. He normally exits all of his fights, even ones that go late into the fight, or even all the way like Ibragimov... without a mark on him, and no injuries to mention. So, why are we to assume that there is a strong possibility that he will get injured vs Chisora?

To answer your last question. No, I do not. If you recall the last time that they were scheduled to fight this same thing happened. Haye wanted the fight in the summer... and Wlad wanted to fight before then. Wlad decided to concede and sat on the shelf until June to fight Haye... Haye pulled out of the fight. So, why Wlad do the same thing again?

"Boxing fans" are hilarious nowadays. They complain about a Champ staying active. They worry more about a fighters purse split, contract clauses, options, and steroids than the fighters themselves. Half of the arguments on this message board are about drugs and contracts.

It's just the typical Wlad haters. They don't use common sense, or look at the facts. Instead they just post whatever hypes their fighter and hates on Wlad.

I dunno Widdow. Maybe because Wlad picked up an injury in training to fight Chisora recently?

So, even if you completely ignore the actual fight, you don't think going through one training camp, having a fight, having a week or 2 off, then straight back into another camp may mean Wlad is more likely to pick up an injury? Especially after Wlad got injured in his last camp (which is far more likely to happen once you enter your mid 30's)

Yes, I totally agree on this one. I don't care about why it's so hard to get a fight, or who earns what. Two guys that won't budge on, really, minor details is pathetic.

Just get the fight done. Everybody wants to see Wlad and Haye fight.

I can't believe the **** that has gone on from BOTH guys in trying to get this fight made.

That was the first time that Wlad has ever had to call off a fight due to an injury. So, it isn't like it's a regular occurance. The fact that it happened, I'm sure... is a major factor as to why Wlad wants to make sure he fights in April. He doesn't want to sit on the shelf for nearly a year. I certainly don't blame him.
