In the history of boxing, who do you favor over Hearns at 147 or 154?

    SRL is an acceptable answer.
    SRR is the only other.

And really, you would have to call SRL an even fight that SRL won late. You wouldn't bet your goddamn house on SRL in a rematch.

And other than Hagler and Roy... Who do you favor at 160?

Big punchers would always be dangerous to Tommy, Tito could get him out, Oscar's hook if he catches him right. Emile Griffith might be favored over him, maybe Napoles.. Tommy was great but welterweight is deeeep with atg fighters.

At MW, quite a few. Hopkins, Monzon, Toney, hell Barkley beat him twice.

I think McCallum has a very, very fair shot, at 154. I wouldn't outright favour him, but I wouldn't have a problem with someone who does. Gavilan also can take him down to the wire, either weight. There are some good names out there who wouldn't be crazy to favour over him, but precious few. There's Burley, maybe Rodriguez and Griffith, also, who would be sane to make a case for. Pacquiao, at 150, of course, as he's the greatest 150-pounder in the history of the sport, as GTSK would tell you.

I don't know if i'd favor him but i'd've like to see how Terry Norris would have done. Would be interesting to see Randy Turpin at 160 also.

Benitez doesn't get the love he deserves.

    At 147: robinson, leonard.

    At 154: noone.

I'm only including fighter's who left a significant mark in the division's history.

Tito started fairly slowly, i'd expect Hearns to get that right hand on tito's chin before tito could get that left hand on Hearns'.

I'd see it being very similar to this.

At MW, Hopkins destroys Hearns. I mean destroys him I'm certain.

Below MW it's intresting, he's a H2H ATG. At 154lbs it'd be intresting to see him box Winky Wright.

Fernando Vargas wouldn't win, but it'd be fun.

147 with a Hearns and prime Paul Williams would be intresting just because of the length involved.

There's plenty of interesting match-ups for him at 147. Outside of the Sugars, I think Gavilan may have a decent chance of beating him, due to his excellent chin and versatility. Physically strong types like Basilio or Walker could be awkward if they dragged him into a war in the later rounds. Despite his reputation as a puncher, I don't recall anyone ever outboxing Tommy in his career, and he faced some damn good ones (Leonard, Benitez, Hill). I don't see Rodriguez, Napoles or Griffith being favoured over him.

At 154 McCallum sprung to mind straigh away, but realistically Hearns would be heavily favoured against every other long-reigning champion at 154. Burley at that weight would be a very tough match-up.

At 160, I think Hearns has a lot of problems with LaMotta, Fullmer, Tiger and Zale, as well as Monzon, Cerdan and Hopkins. There isn't any worthwhile footage of Greb to make a judgement either way. To be honest, Hearns at 160 was vulnerable, and while he could still punch at the weight, there's plenty of second tier champions who have a decent shot at beating him.

At 147 I'd go for Burley, Robinson and Leonard. At 154, I think he's at least a slender favourite over everyone. Watching him fight Ketchel would be fun though.

At 160, a lot of guys.
