I've just been thinking about the next couple of months of boxing at 175 and it has some great match ups: Calzaghe vs Hopkins Woods vs Tarver Johnson vs Dawson Danny Green defending his WBA We also have Erdei marking time possibly (hopefully) waiting for a winner from above, RJJ still lingering around and woah, woah, woah!! All these seem good matches on paper but all of these guys are SO old: Hopkins 43 Calzaghe 36 Tarver 39 Erdei 33 Woods 35 Johnson 40 Green 35 Jones Jnr 39 The one exception? Dawson. A baby at 25. This boy needs to look impressive against the slow and plodding Johnson (which he should be and the win will boost his name) and do all possible to get one of the winners of the other fights into the ring with him. The fear is that should Calzaghe and Woods win, the two Brits would pull something together. That's if Calzaghe or Woods don't go down the RJJ road. Whatever happens in the fights, and whatever the outcomes, I want to see Dawson in against an old master to hand over to the next generation. Dawson vs Kessler for the undisputed LHW championship of the world in 2 years time anyone?
