In the list of the best HWs ever Usyk will be able to get 8th maximum

    I firmly think that Usyk by beating Fury has already entered the list of the best 10 heavyweights ever. In mine it occupies ninth position after Tyson (8th) and before Frazier (10th). I also think that technically Usyk is at the level of Ali who is the first but I believe that by beating Fury for the second time and taking back the IBF title subsequently at most he will be able to become the 8th heavyweight in history, surpassing only Tyson but not Holyfield (7th), Holmes (6th) and Lewis (5th). In fact, to do this he would have to have at least ten defenses in his resume which, given his age and his intention to return to the cruisers shortly, is somewhat impractical. What do you think about it?

    After Tyson? The guy who's "prime" lasted a few years and coincided with a weak division? The guy who lost handily to a 42-1 underdog and was 2-3 against the best competition he faced (Old Holmes, Old Spinks, Holyfield, Lennox).

    Because of the lack of depth in the heavyweight division, I understand not putting him ahead of Holyfield and Lewis, but he's 4-0 against the next 3 best heavyweights of his era (I know Dubois is a stretch, but he is IBF champion).

    Dont think those that are competing with Usyk now are better than the fighters faced by Tyson from a certain point on of his career.

    0-0 Ngannou almost beat Fury too, so it is hardly a boxing legend type of win.

    Mike is definitely overrated by the general public, but to be fair, beating Holmes, Spinks, Razor, Tubbs, Tucker, Berbick, Pinklon,Bruno, Carl Williams, Bonecrusher, Stewart and Botha aint too shabby. I dont think Usyk, Fury or AJ go undefeated against that list.

    Imo only Usyk between Fury and AJ can beat all them.

    We are still over-rating the shorter, lighter fighters of yesteryear.

    Prime HW Usyk demolishes almost ALL of them. And I mean, DEMOLISHES.

    He spent too much time at Crusierweight to build the body of work necessary to become to become a top 5 HW.

    Completely agreed. But it's hard to think he will be able to build in the next years a better resume than Holy, Holmes, Lewis, Foreman, Louis, Marciano and Ali.

    If you can draw an equivalence between the cruisers Usyk beat and the guys people like Louis and Ali beat then you can have a case.

    Yeah, agreed. He has many chances. But unfortunately he got few fights even if he beat excellent and very good fighters in both categories.

    I personally don't think Usyk is Top 10 HW at the moment. And I'm a big fan of the guy. He could be Top 10 P4P tho.
