In the midst of all the arguing, how about just giving credit to both men?

For me both answered their critics tonight. Canelo having been called a protected cash cow and GGG an HBO hype job who had never mixed at elite level. Both guys showed tonight that they are true warriors, with guys and skills that belong at elite level.

GGG is a force of nature, Canelo hit him with some cracking shots and he just grinned like they were nothing and forced him back. Canelo landed some eye catching shots and showed great hand speed and clever head movement to neutralise some of GGG's howitzers but fought in spurts, with GGG showing the better engine despite his age. GGG outjabbed him and landed clubbing shots which Canelo to his credit took well but couldn't stand with him.

I had it narrowly to GGG but don't feel the draw card was outrageous. Anything from 116-112 to 114-114 is fine by me. Bring on the rematch.

Adelaide Byrd on the other hand, well, wow, just wow.

The scores shouldn't be the only takehome. Canelo exceeded expectations of so many, even if he wasn't consistent enough. His skill and strength at middleweight is for real. And it was a really great, historic fight, and that should matter more than the scores. Tense all the way, sharp, clean counterpunches by Canelo, crazy pressure and chin by GGG, several shifts in momentum, both fought with real passion. It was a damn fun fight, and I think the fight of the year.

Just like great art can't be ruined if it's not given a prize, a great boxing match can't be ruined by the scores. So come on, of course we can be outraged about the decision, but let's appreciate and debate what actually happened in the ring more.

That it was a draw means we should get a rematch, so maybe that's the blessing in disguise, because after a great, close fight there should be a rematch, but if Canelo got the W there probably wouldn't be.

Nah, at the moment I'd rather give discredit to the judges.

I thought it was a mismatch before the fight. 2 years ago it would have been. Canelo as a boxer won a new fan in me for his showing, he lost to me but he showed some balls just even getting in there with GGG. As for Canelo's speech afterwards claiming he won the fight, I still think he's a deluded, chosen one, ***** for not accepting a defeat on the chin and moving on. I would have accepted that humility gladly, as most Mexican fans of his would have.

I felt GGG won, but I will give Canelo credit he performed much better than I expected. He moved well, and he took the punches better than I expected. Triple GGG has slowed in his last few fights too, but he still bossed the fight. He moved Canelo around the ring from round 3 on, Canelo still can't fight for 3 minutes a round. Triple G can and it I think it should of been the difference. GGG moved him around landed the harder shots and fought consistently. Canelo, slipped well, had some flashy shots land (an uppercut and that looping right hand stand out) and was full of confidence. I would of been fine with 115-113 Triple G.
But the Byrd score only shows that these cards were made out before hand. Terrible score
