I have decided to creat a fanasty tourny. This time with heavyweights.
I'm using box recs rattings to seed the boxers. Just because they have a deep data base. Also what kind of tourny would we have without some conterversty? All fights 12 rounds. The better seed advances if a draw. Assume fights are 4-6 months apart.
    here we go
    1. Muhammad Ali
    16. Joe Frazier
    8. Vitali Klitschko
    9. Max Schmeling

    5.Rocky Marciano
    12. Gene Tunney
    4. Sam Langford
    13.Lennox Lewis

    6. Floyd Patterson
    11. Evander Holyfield
    3. Ezzard Charles
    14. Wladimir Klitschko

    7. Harry Wills
    10. Larry Holmes
    2. Joe Louis
    15. Jack Johnson

    Ali
    Klit
    Marciano
    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Wlad
    Holmes
    Louis

    R2- Ali
    Lewis
    Holyfield
Louis wins here by a slight UD

    R3- Lewis
Louis knocks Holyfeild out clean here

    R4- Lewis

Lewis prime/motivated would be too much for everyone. Of course he would still have a chance to lose because his CHIN Isn't that good, but it's good enough imo.

    First round.
I like Ali to beat Frazier 115-113 and Vitali to stop Schmeling in 4 rounds.

I like Marciano to come from behind to score a 12th round stoppage over Tunney. Lewis is going to be too big and strong for Langford wiinning in the first.

Paterson and Holyfield fight to a draw. Paterson moves to the second round.
Wladimir stops Charles in the 6th round.

Holmes out boxes Wills to gain a close but decision.
Louis stops Johnson in the 10th in a close fight.

NO way dude... Holyfield would completely destroy Patterson..

Holyfield would stop him in the later rounds. Too fast, too good, too skilled. A 1996-1997 Holyfield is a terror. Better in every category.

Patterson's chin wouldn't hold up the whole 12. Not even close.

I really really don't like the seedings and the way they matched up early. But I'll play.

    1 Ali UD 16 Frazier
    8 Vitali TKO10 9 Schmeling

    5 Marciano SD 12 Tunney
    13 Lennox UD 4 Langford

    11 Holyfield UD 6 Patterson
    14 Wladimir UD 3 Ezzard

    7 Wills UD 10 Holmes
    2 Louis SD 15 Johnson

    ---

    1 Ali UD 8 Vitali
    5 Marciano KO5 13 Lennox

    14 Wladimir MD 11 Holyfield
    2 Louis UD 7 Wills

    ---

    1 Ali UD 5 Marciano
    2 Louis KO6 14 Wladimir

    ---

    1 Ali SD 2 Louis

    ---

So, I was literally going to do this exact same thing in the next couple days here...

I'll link this thread as well in mine (when I make it) and I hope I have your blessing.

You think Marciano can KO Lewis?

    Good Lord!

I don't think Marciano would see the 2nd round. Lewis WAY TOO BIG, strong, skilled.

Jab jab grab, jab jab, right hand. Good day.

There is a 60-65 pound difference here with an 7-8 inch difference in height.

    Elite 8!
    1. Muhammad Ali
    8. Vitali Klitschko
I like Ali by decision. Vitali can stop anyone, but I think compared to his brother. Lewis and even Bowe (not in this). He's a little slow when it comes to firing his shots. Ali will prove too quick.

    5.Rocky Marciano
    13.Lennox Lewis
Marciano deserves to be considered as one of the best heavyweights ever, but this is a match up of a big strong and skilled heavyweight in Lewis and a crusierweight in Marciano. Lewis in 5 rounds.

    6. Floyd Patterson
    14. Wladimir Klitschko
    Wladimir in 1.

    10. Larry Holmes
    2. Joe Louis
Louis will eat a lot of Jabs, but he will slip and parry quite a few as well. Holmes is a great boxer, but he can lose focus when it seems that he's on his way to a big win. It might not hurt him (Mercer fight) than again it might be devestating (Tyson fight). I expect the latter result Louis in the 8th round.

    The Final Four.

    1. Muhammad Ali
    13.Lennox Lewis
The biggest knock about Lewis is his chin. Possibily Ali's greatest strength is his chin. Lewis's best strength may be his punching power. Compared to most heavyweights this may not be Ali's best thing. I think Ali has enough to hold Lewis off, but not enough to hurt him. I think Lewis will land the bigger shots, but won't be able to put him down. Lewis wins a close decision

    14. Wladimir Klitschko
    2. Joe Louis

Possibily the best puncher at heavyweight in Louis and one of the most suspect chins in Wladimir. I expect Wladimir to prod and potshot Louis with his jab all night. Wladimir's trainer Emanuel Steward has a habbit of encourging his boxers to go for the kill. It's normally not a bad phllosphy. Why leave it in the hands of the judges? Louis isn't Chambers and the result is Louis winning in the 12th round.

    The Finals!!!!!!
    1. Muhammad Ali
    2. Joe Louis

Ali will start out fast boxing circles around Louis. Ali will take an early lead and build up on it in to the mid rounds. After rounds I can see Ali with a 78-74 lead. While Louis might not have the fancy feet of Ali. His footwork is also pretty good. I belive that he will find a way to start to cut the ring off. Also while he might not have the flashy hands of Ali. If he hits you no lead is safe ask Billy Conn and Joe Walcott.
In boxing when the irresistible force known as a great punch meets the immovable object known as a great chin the irresistible force will win.
The story of this tourny has been behind on the cards Louis pulls off a come from behind victory. The finals are no diffrent. Louis by stoppage in the 12th round.

U said Lewis wins a close decision over Ali.. Why is it an Ali/Louis finals instead of a Lewis/Louis?

    Boxrec is pure ******.
    Why did you use boxrec?

Why not use ESB Classics? Or at least use a generally agreed upon h2h?

    H2H Tier 1
    Lewis
    Tyson
    Ali

    (Maybe Loius)
    T2
    Wlad
    Vitali
    Holyfield
    Holmes

    etc..

plus a genius poster already broke down all the Lewis fights anyways.
    I'll copy and paste them.

    Anyways.

Lewis will literally kill Marciano and Langford.
Marciano was a 5'9 light heavy weight. Lewis by brutal life ending KO.

    Lewis vs Joe Louis

Lewis made a career out of destroying big punchers. Now did any of them punch as hard as Joe Joe, debatable. That being said Louis need to get inside on Lennox to win this one. If Joe can constantly land those lefts and inside combinations to the body of Lennox and some to the head, he will make it a very long night.
I just don't see how Joe can consistantly do this without taking massive punishment himself though.
Lewis would be the best all around fighter that Louis fought in terms of overall power, speed, skills and ring generalship. Joe fought Buddy Bear, Buddy Bear is like a 4th grade Lennox Lewis. Lewis have too much a combination of size, power, skills, jab, and that big right hand for the much smaller Joe to overcome.
The upper cuts Lewis will land as Joe gets inside will be too much and too devasting.
Joe will give it a great go, he is a ruthless stalker and one of the great finishers. Once Joe gets you hurt, it's very hard for you to recover. The one thing we DO see from Lewis is that he recovers from being hurt very quickly. Outside of the two fluke ko's, every fight Lewis was hurt in, he came back stronger.
Vitali-Bruno-Mercer-Briggs-Mason he was hurt in all of them and he came back. Obviously not one of those guys were any where near Joe's caliber, I'll admit that much.
Still I just don't see Joe's combinations, skills, power and heart over coming Lewis's own combinations, skills, SUPERIOR SIZE, superior jab, superior power, and equal heart.

    Lewis KO 10.
Beautiful Rahman II combo to put Joe out for the long count.

Joe Lou is also got a suspect chin. They say Lewis and Wlad got suspect chins( Agree to a extent about Lewis.. totally agree about Wlad) but Joe Louis definitely got a suspect chin.
