Rjj would make ggg quit boxing it would actually be funny to watch him hit ggg at will with power combos while ggg shells up and can't do anything about it. Tarver would be at the top of the 175 pound division today he was a huge 175 pound fighter with power and skills. Ward and calzaghe give a prime rjj the most problems everyone else are like lambs being led to slaughter.

I love canelo but he has trouble with slick fighters. Lara and pbf both gave him hell rjj would be much worse because he's bigger than canelo and punches much harder than pbf or lara. He's a horrible styles match up for canelo i dont see how canelo could beat him.

175 is a lot deeper now than it was then and while both guys are certainly capable of beating anyone active I think both have flaws that would prevent them from dominating. Jones chin and Tarver was inconsistent. If both were active in todays climate and everyone fought each other without political BS there would be a lot of hot potato with the belts.

I think Roy can be beaten. I think he's mentally fragile. Roy Jones was at HW for 1 fight, and his performance is praised. So he was still performing at the highest level at the age he fought Ruiz at. He came down in weight and WON immediately after vs Tarver.

He then had time to recover for the second fight, if he needed to recover from the weight loss. The human body is not that pathetically weak that you can't recover from losing weight permanently. Tarver had his number and KO'd him. Tarver is not a great fighter.

After that Roy went on to be absolutely terrible. His decline was so sharp. Why? He didn't take much punishment, and in the Ruiz fight he was still as sharp as ever.

He simply lost his confidence after Tarver. Normally he would have been out of reach of a certain punch, but now he hesitated a bit and was hit. His chin was exposed as being weak so without his usual confidence and style he had nothing. He couldn't gut out victories doing other things.

No one from today's 160, 168 and 175 beat prime Jones, Toney or Hopkins.

The guy that so easily beat Toney and Bhop? RJJ is possibly the best p4p boxer of all time. I’d favour him against everyone from MW to LHW.

Who's going to beat a peak Jones? Take the elites at each weight.

154: Williams, Charlo, Harrison, Lara - all of them get beat down by Roy if they fought him at 160. Not even remotely competitive.
160: Canelo, GGG, Jacobs - Canelo looks helpless, GGG gets ****ing pasted, and Jacobs ends up severely outclassed. Even a green Hopkins was better than these guys.
168: Jones outskills and makes Smith, Benavidez, Plant, etc. look foolish. The guy dominated Toney at this weight, who was miles ahead of anybody here now
175: Gvozdyk, Beterbiev, Kovalev, Bivol - all of them are too robotic and straight-up to beat Jones pre-Ruiz here. Gvozdyk looks confused as he doesn't have the unpredictability or dynamism to beat Jones, Beterbiev gets sharpshooted and knocked out, Kovalev would wish he was fighting Ward instead, and Bivol gets utterly beat at his own game.

Roy was a phenom and a once in a lifetime talent during his prime. He'd wipe the floor with these guys, none of whom are true all-time great head-to-head talents. Some of them would be so completely hesitant to open up due to Jones' counters, explosiveness, and speed. The ones with leaky defenses wouldn't know wtf hit 'em. If you want guys to truly compete and battle with prime Jones, look to Hagler, Monzon, Spinks, Foster, Charles, Saad Muhammad, etc. (some of whom I would favor, especially at 175). These current fighters aren't going to do the trick.

Nope no one out of todays boxers stands a chance. A prime Kovalev would be a good candidate but the current version gets humiliated and stopped.

    Ok then.

And he absolutely ethered you so it was completely in order.
Fine put forward an argument for Ottke's Résumé over Wards or a reason why he'd beat Roy Jones Jr at 168. Really I don't mind which, both are ridiculous
