i don't see why being the fave is a no-win situation winning against a top fighter is a legacy builder, even when you are the favorite. And he could win more impressively than expected, in which case its definately a legacy builder. However if you're an almost 3/1 favorite as he was against Hopkins and you win by SD, then no, of course its not that great for his legacy
Was Tyson an underdog when he fought Tillman in the pros? No, it dont matter what you do in the amatuers.
Yes, I agree. Except about the case for Dawson. Like McGrain, I just cannot see how any bookie would make Dawson favourite.
I think the bookies more likely will have Calzaghe as an underdog against Tarver than Dawson as of right now, IMO.
Well he is consensus top 3 P4P, so he'd be the favorite against anyone from 175 down. Same way PBF would be the favorite against anyone 154 and down. They both still have a lot to gain by beating the top contenders though.
I agree with you. However, i know a couple of guys who insist Dawson is a monster and the most avoided guy in the sport. I'm convinced they would favour Dawson over Godzilla.
He might still beat Calzaghe, but I don't think he would or should be favourite against Calzaghe. Calzaghe v. Dawson is a fight many of us hope to see, because of styles, especially if Dawson proves his chin and mental strength (concentration) a bit more. Hopefully he'll pick Diaconu for that. We'll know on the 3rd of June.
I tend to find when discussing the sport online practically every division, barring welter, is "about as weak as it's ever been." HW = **** Cruiser = **** LHW = **** SMW = **** MW = **** JMW = **** WW = strong as it's ever been JWW = **** And so on.
Was it not at 150 lbs? Oh, hang on; you're right! It was at 154 lbs!:good EDIT: so...Mayweather and Calzaghe are the only two, really...Pacquiao too, maybe??
