You can't really compare Joe to Tillman and Chris to Tyson. But I get your point.

I still think Chris will lose soemthing dropping so much weight though he does look good. Yes if Chris clears up the division, or even gets a title in a very convincing manner he might start favourite. Unless that happens he'd be an underdog.

    lol why "and so on"?

Are you saying lightweight and jr lightweight are ****? what about 126, 115 and 112? All good division.

and right now Heavyweight is not half as bad as it was about 2 years ago. and also SMW is definately not **** with Calzaghe as the champ and Kessler, Bute, TAylor, Miranda, Pascal, Winky Wright, Mundine, Froch, etc.

sorry man but LHW is weak with the best fighters being on average almost 40 years old.

    :think:good

PBF would be underdog if he fought Pavlik at 160lbs. And Calzaghe would be underdog against Haye at 200lbs.

Fair enough LiamE, Im just hard pressed seeing Bryd the underdog when he's been beating and competing with top notch Heavyweights for nearly 10 years now, I cant see how Calzaghe would make him scared in anyway, especially since Bryd will obviously be the more powerful man coming in, as well as comparable speed and overall ability, but agree, we must wait and see what Chris does in a few of his matches before we have a good solid opinion on what he may or may not do against Calzaghe in the future.

There is no possible way that you have been watching boxing for very long. Kessler has a faster more compact jab than Pavlik and it was negated.

If you cannot see how someone as wide and predictable as Pavlik could possibly be outboxed and out manoeved by Calzaghe then you have no grasp of the sport.

With regard to Byrd, dropping a lot of weight in a relatively quick time is a bad idea. Ask Roy Jones.

i know, but you're saying that most people think every division is "as bad as its ever been", while i think that most people recognize that HW, SMW, WW, LW, Jr.LW, Super Bantamweight, Super flyweight, flyweight, and jr Flyweight are doing ok.

I recognize that I will be in the extreme minority here, but I think Calzaghe should be an underdog against any top three or four LHWs with decent punch output. I truly believe he was surprised by the weight of Hopkins' punches. That extra power nearly nullified his style, as he had be constantly on guard against a big right hand. I could be wrong, but I would be very surprised if Calzaghe stepped back up to 175 again.

Against Bute that is a better technical fighter.
