Duran, Hearns, Leonard, Hagler= all 4 all time greats that all fought each other and why do you rate them in the order you pick? This was before my time so I'll stay neutral, I haven't watched enough tape to tell you the truth. But in every tournament there is that logic that fighter a beat fighter b but fighter c beat fighter a but fighter b beat fighter c and so on and so forth... Also there is the prime for prime hypothesis, also to keep in mind how many times they fought one another, renatches and such, the outcome of those matches, your favorites (biases because styles make fights) and also what weight class was it at??? I'm not gonna pretend I know the Fab 4 like you more knowledgeable posters do, so what order do you rank them in? Leave comments about which were the best fights and nuances in them as well. Feel free to take us down memory lane for us who may not be familiar. And also pound for pound how do you rate them? Let's go!
P4P or IRL? IRL Hagler Leonard Duran Hearns P4P Duran Hagler Leonard Hearns And let's be fair their careers also hinged quite a lot on who they fought and when. The order could be different if they'd fought each other at different times and weights, and not to mention their other opponents. Some people might feel I am underrating Hearns and they'd have a case for Tommy, I think. Just my personal opinion.
Duran. Leonard. Hearns. Hagler. Hagler last because he was the biggest and his best wins are against those guys who came from smaller weights.
Head to head - though I could switch places between Hearns and Leonard, I think they were really 1-1 in their 2 fights and Hearns did better vs Duran while Leonard did better vs Hagler. Hagler Leonard Hearns Duran P4P Duran Leonard Hearns Hagler
For whatever reason, when I was a kid, I was a huge Sugar Ray Leonard fan ( guy annoys me now, for other reasons) and theres other reasons why my judgement may be impaired as I type this post. Fair to say that Duran was past his prime when the fab 4 series began, beat SRL in fight one but got his clock cleaned by Tommy, lost to Hagler, humiliated by Leonard in the rematch and loses the 3rd easily, so he's last in the round robin. Leonard comes out on top because he has wins v all 3 other fighters, Hagler second, Hearns last, kos an older Duran but stopped by both Hagler and SRL. I think in terms of the mythical pound for pound I would go Duran, SRL, Hagler, Hearns. If these guys fought each other, regardless of weight, age etc. Pure 'fighting ability and rage inside the ring' , you gotta go a 'prime' Duran, then SRL ( for pure class ), Hagler ( solid, hard as nails ) and then Hearns ( it's only really the chin that lets him down against these guys ).
As Hagler was a middleweight im ranking them at that weight..... Hagler Leonard Hearns Duran Considering Duran was originally a lightweight its phenomenal he could compete against these bigger guys....albeit Hearns blew him away
