    Oh yeah ...

I don't think a fighter like Roy can be totally shot ... I can say he's well past his prime but it would be no different than fighting an 43 yr old Bernard Hopkins.

If Calzaghe wins then its legit ... there should never be excuses made for fighters ... you see they don't make excuses ... they accept defeat and move on.

I'm sure if Roy was shot - that HBO wouldn't take the chance of still putting him on PPV fight cards.

Calzaghe is no spring chicken either ... he's in his late 30's and has been in the game for over 15yrs ...

Great conditioning for a 39 year old, but judged against the harsh standards of the elite level his stamina isn't great. Sure, you can pace yourself, but Roy is fighting in spurts by neccessity rather than just conserving energy. That is the key difference. He's fighting 30 second rounds and covering up with that high guard and standing stationary for the rest. That is a horrible style against the work-rate of Calzaghe, or any top level fighter really.

I'm predicting Roy to stop Joe ... in Whales or Vegas ...

And to you guys who claim that Roy has lost it ... explain how? ... because he got knocked out? ... I never seen him get dominated ... he got KO'd by one punch ... it was never due to accumulation or anything.

It was accumulation against Johnson and it didn't help when his head bounced off the canvas either.

He's past it because there is no way in hell that Tito Trinidad, Hanshaw or Prince Badi take him the distance during Jones' prime. No way in hell. He's stopped far better fighters than them as you well know. Jones going the distance in his last three fights has probably taken more out of him than if he'd of stopped them early. All that wear and tear takes it's toll.

It wasn't accumulation against Johnson ... Johnson was pressure Roy but he wasn't pummuling him ... he was barley landing ...

Roy was using the ring very well ... it was just that overhand right ...

I dont think this fight has any chance of being in Whales, too dangerous for both men. Neither would be used to the slippery conditions and the unsteady venue.

ok as much as i like b-hop, he doesn't punch all that hard anymore. any time he landed cleanly it affected joe (knockdown, almost a second kd in end of the 7th (if i remember), etc.) jones is quicker than bhop and at this stage punches much harder. if slappy tries that pity pat flurry garbage jones will retreat to the ropes and catch him with some big counters. jones by stoppage or ud.

Roy Jones Jr wasn't just stopped by Tarver and Johnson...he was knocked out. Unconscious. Starched.

I don't know about anybody else, but if those two fighters were able to do that with one punch, I think an accumlation of Joe's "slaps" can also stop Roy Jones Jr who is admitedly not the Roy of old.

Wrong .. the diff is that Johnson and even Tarver are far, far better punchers ... an accumulation of Joe's ***** slaps didn't even stop the limited Jeff Lacy and he was basically defenseless ... if you want to see a KO by Joe better find him a junior welterweight to fight .. no way he could stop a welterweight ... lousy technique, zero upper body strength, paws and slaps like a near-woman, even when he sits down on his punches they are laughable ... Paulie Calzaghe

I am really hoping RJJ will KO Calzaghe. I would prefer for JC to lose to RJJ than Pavlik because RJJ is one of my fav fighters! RJJ showed against Tito that he still had power and skills.

Calzaghe doesn't even carry the power nor the punching technique (slaps) to do such a thing. If Cal wins it'll be by decision, not by KO.
