Do people really thing Mike Tyson weighs 220 in 1950? Would people have been saying if it were Tyson instead of Marciano that no way he could move up in weight? On paper Marciano never should have been the champion. Started very late was to short and a pathetic reach. Not to mention he cut easily and was clumsy. Yet he over came those things. I have no doubt he has a lot of success at HW. Especially in this era.

Well that would mean that a prime Ali (210 pounds) or a prime Liston (212 pounds) would be cruisers today as well. After all, what's the difference between a 212 pound cruiser in 2018 and a 212 pound heavyweight in 1960, besides an arbitrary dividing line?

    What was Marciano's walking-around weight ?

    What is Crawford's and Spence's ?

Probably around the same as Ricky Hatton's walk around weight. What does that have to do with anything?

Yes, I would consider a lot of historically great heavyweights cruiserweights today. That isn't a slight on them at all; I consider modern day cruiserweights the true heirs to the heavyweight division, and some of the best fighters H2H on the planet. Gassiev and Briedis I believe could compete on very even terms with any heavyweight outside of Joshua and a fit Fury, and Usyk I believe could beat Joshua himself.

It's also interesting to note that one of the best HWs on the planet is little more than a rehydrated cruiserweight himself, despite routinely being labelled a "super heavyweight" and that both Povetkin and Fury struggled with two cruiserweights in Marco Huck and Steve Cunningham.

If they all walked around north of 200 pounds like Marciano did then they would be going after heavyweight money too. Well, maybe not Golovkin, hes made a career out of whining about being ducked and taking small money for lesser risks against smaller opponents.

    Good point.
Also to be fair to him, hes always stated that he wants to unify before moving up.

Briedis, Gassiev and Usyk all walk around north of 200 pounds (Gassiev balloons up to about 240 during fights), yet they still continue to operate in the cruiserweight division. Why? It can't be because they don't think they're good enough. Briedis already beat the man who currently holds the WBA belt and Usyk has a history of embarrassing top level SHWs like Joe Joyce so it seems a bit odd, no?

And why do Wilder opponents get paid so little money contesting for a world title? Why does Wilder make so little money, come to think of it?

Right because Mayweather, Cotto, and Martinez were eager to meet Golovkin in the ring!

Canelo who I predict will be soundly beaten in the re-match waited for Golovkin to age and slow down, then injecting himself with PED's and with the aid of Oscar's judges produced a bogus draw.
Fans might be shocked at how small Canelo looks this time. He looked over 175+ in the last fight.

Rocky had some weight issues after he retired. Maybe he could be 200-205, but any more weight and he's losing his stamina and conditioning, which is part of what made him special.

Suuuuure, just like Kovalev. It sucks when your dream of a white super champion meets reality. If you choose to believe Golovkin hasnt made a living off of low hanging fruit, Canelo included, so be it. Fact is his record is the most anemic of any fighter Ive ever seen for lunatics like you pretending hes an all time great.

True but Marciano also weighed over 200 when playing baseball (heard 210-220). Meaning the era dictated that Marciano lose weight at least that was the thinking from what I was told. Fighters wanted to weigh less. As opposed to today the heavier the better. That could be a false statement I heard but would make sense considering how damn light everyone was then
