Pretty much this. . . For the population of the UK, it's more popular "per capita" than USA. . And they are more passionate about even local shows, and local boxers at the grassroots level. . In USA, boxing is only popular for the few stars like FLoyd, and Manny. . .

I'd say Ukraine, and maybe even Germany would be up there too. . .

But Mexico has gotta be number one.

Lol, also, South America isn't a country? You should have broken it down by countries in S.A. like Argentina, where it's prolly fairly popular. . Then maybe Venezuela, and Columbia. . .

Also, Central American countries like Nicaragua, and Panama.

Watch your typical run of the mill card in England, its more often then not packed house, whereas in the US, a guy like Tim Bradley can't fill a 10k arena in his hometown.

Per capita, like someone else posted, the UK is ahead of the US. By quite a margin too might I add.

I realize its not a country. But I went of assumption .. that the popularity and participation levels are so low in those places that its better to combine the countrys into one continent to make it possibly level.

Yup - I tune in to watch all the local shows where just a prospect is headlining the card, and you see 3-5k fans all very into the show, and passionate. . .

While in USA, these type of shows you don't even hear about. . .

Then, if you look at the champions in USA, like Tim Bradley, and he can't even sell 2 thousand seats. . . I think the time he defended his title around Palm Springs, CA, his hometown, there was like 1800 fans there, and half of those tickets were given away to firemen, cops, etc. . .

Then, a champion in the UK, not even one of their more popular ones - lets say Ricky Burns - he can pack around 5-7k cheering, passionate fans against a low-quality challenger. . . And against a top-tier challenger, I bet he could easily do 10k.

Overall, it just seems like there is more of a connection, and passionate support for boxers; especially at the local, or "grassroots" level. while in USA, it's just more of a "regular sporting event", where people only really get up for the top 1, or 2 guys.

Ok, let me rephrase this question. If pacquaio decided to stay in his job of thatching roofs when he was 16, instead of becoming boxer, what would be the #1 sport over there right now?

When I go to Mexico, I never see **** about UFC or MMA.

Mexicans are proud of their boxing culture. In every major city in MX you see boxing posters and billboards.
