My favourite fighter is Joe Calzaghe and the time I feel he let us down was the Hopkins fight. Yes, he did win, and yes he did deserve to, but after the sensational Lacy and Kessler performances, this was a massive letdown. It's very easy to say no-one looks good against Hopkins, but this was not Hopkins as we know him. He was shattered by the mid rounds, there for the taking, and not only could Joe not hurt him at all even once, he couldn't even catch him with one clean good combination. If Joe turned up in the form of the Lacy or Kessler fight, he could've beaten Hopkins much more comprehensively- like I expect Pavlik to.

Joe deserved to win and I'm happy he did, but I thought that fight was the night he would take his step into the ATG group with another amazing performance, and it just wasn't that at all, even though his opponent was well past his best.

Jermain Taylor getting KOed against Pavlik. I was so confident Taylor was going to win.

You didn't think his performance in the De La Hoya fight was a bit of a letdown? A split-decision v a 35-yr-old who hadn't fought in a year?

Floyd deserved the decision, but he was lethargic and uninspiring, he did the minimum required to win. It was a dull fight and Floyd didn't go for the throat and produce anything like what he is capable of.

I hear you man,not that I was rooting for anybody then but that final KD when he looked in his corner you can see that he was not only defeated but had given up,a little ashamed even. One of the saddest moments in recent memory too see Erik go like that altough he later gave Diaz a run for his money, which I think he won

I was talking strictly in terms of losses. I agree with everything else you said.

Lewis/Tyson, it was probably the most pumped I ever was for a fight, my legs actually went to jelly during Tyson's ring walk. After the 1st round Tyson fell apart and it was sad to see.

Wlad/Brewster 2, I kinda knew Brewster would lose, but the way he did was extremely sad. He was always a warrior, and for him to quit on his stool like that was hard to erase.

Thats a bit unfair he was finished and shot to pieces by then. Tyson had no chance during that fight.

Very true, though I was a huge Tyson fan and believed he would win, I guess I just bought into the hype that surrounded the fight.

Wlad in the first Brewster fight, but then when I found out he was drugged it made perfect sense.

I think thats unfair as well to say he let you down. It's not like he didn't give it his all and go out on his sword. Disappointed in the performance; yea, but letting people down?

If a boxer turns up and looks like he's not making an effort then fair enough...

I don't know if you are really a true Hatton fan then. I'm not, but I thought he was very brave and performed well rounds 1-6, against a guy who was just a greater fighter than him in every way. There was nothing else he could've done. I don't think he let anyone down, he did his best.

    hatton vs mayweather

with me living in england, this fight was built up to be the biggest fight ever involving a british fighter and with me being a hatton fan i was very excited about the fight. Although i am a mayweather fan as well i still wanted ricky to win so much so i felt pretty disheartened when mayweather started picking him off with ease, plus i was incredibly frustrated that hatton let mayweather get to him, meaning that instead of going to the body (his best weapon) he was headhunting which is damn near impossible against someone with the reflexes mayweather has.
