In which fight did your favorite boxer let you down the most?

Excellent post & all very true.
The 1st & 3rd fights could have gone either way, a draw for both would be fairer than a win for either IMO.
Fight 2 was a clear win for my man Morales, I cant believe the judges only gave Morales rd 10 from rd 7-12, I gave him 7, 8, 10 & 11 & 7 should have been 10-8.

In the 3rd fight, Morales came in at 143 lbs with (I believe) the intent of stopping Barrera where as he seen him as a more dangerous fight the 1st 2 times, he thought he would just overpower him.
His previous & next fights vs Hernandez & Pacquiao, Morales came in at 140 lbs & looked sharp & fast as he viewed those 2 as live opponents.

I truly think Morales is going to really regret that 3rd fight, especially if they never fight again which is looking more unlikely.
(Not sure Id want a 4th now anyway as MAB has clearly got more left in the tank.)

 

I dont view Morales as the type that would have regrets.

I wish he would have stayed retired after the third Pac fight.......though he got shellaked, I had a good feeling seeing Morales and the way he explained and conducted himself after he got up from sitting on the mat.
He really seemed at peace with himself and with what he had accomplished throughout his career.
......it really would not have been a bad way to go out losing to a fighter of Pac's caliber.....but now it looks like he wants to give it another go.....

I'm with you, I hope he does'nt fight MAB again......he'd get beaten thoroughly by JMM imo, but I'd rather see that, than to see him losing to MAB in any kind of fashion.

 

From way back: The guy in my avatar was THE MAN at 126. I was shocked and appauled when he lost to some snot nosed kid named Salvador Sanchez. Felt sure Danny would beat him in the rematch. He did a little better, but still got his ass handed to him. That's when I knew Sal was somethin' special.

Recently: Kelly Pavlik will almost certainly get over his loss to Hopkins, but I'm not sure I will!:sad2

 

Wicked thread lads, Gotta go with Haton against Mayweather, I was distraught for weeks. Strangely, Clinton Woods against Tarver was quite bad, not a great fan of either, but for an IBF champ, that performance was appaling.

 

Trinidad against Winky...i thought he could've made the comeback he needed...but it was the beginning of the end :verysad

Cotto has never let me down...even in his most devastating loss, the man fought with heart and did all he could, but just lost to a machine of a man. I have faith he will come back twice as strong and win the rematch in incredible fashion.

Jones performance against Calzaghe...I understand his eye was cut and he was shot to ****...but I was hoping he'd just go for it...swing for the fences. He could've gotten lucky. But I thought he stood there and took his beating like a warrior and proved that no one was taking him down again. I just wished he would've done something remarkable and made the comeback for the ages...

 

agree. but morales, (i am a huge em and pac fan) sort of played into the hands of mab. i think he could have boxed mab silly from a comfortable distance but his hate got the better of him. even then it was a good fight, i just thought that he was smart enough to get into a brawl with mab.

 

I remember being very disappointed when Gatti was taken apart by Baldomir.

I thought it would be competitive at the very least. I think Gatti won maybe one round before he was KO'd.

 

Calzaghe has never lost so never really let me down.

Hated to see Lennox lose to Rahman though.:-(

 

DLH vs Pacman. I expected a lot more from DLH.

 

Nigel Benn went on far too long , lost his last 3 and after every one said he was retiring. It became a bit of a joke to be honest. The last fight against Collins he was an absolute shell and ended up quitting . The crowd jeered him a bit which was very sad to hear after all he did for british boxing and how popular he was, and still is.

 

Hatton v Mayweather, just terrible....
After Floyd been such an incorrigible twat throughout the 24/7 series ,press conferences etc,I Really was desperate to see Ricky shove all that bull**** back down his throat.........

 

I hope there were no McCall fans, feeling disapointed, after the debacle of the Lewis II fight......

 

Cintron vs. Margarito 2 I was really dissapointed, I really thought that Cintron could win the rematch but he was destroyed again.

 

Easy. First Rahman fight for Lewis. Didn't need to happen and, worse, you could see it happening. There was a lot of unease/hope depending on who you were before the fight due to Lewis's weight and lack of acclimatisation.

 

Kessler against Calzaghe! Kess looked good in the first half of the fight, but when Joe change style, Kess wasn`t able to adabt it! But again the loss wasn`t that bad, he was still fighting to the final bell, and he took the loss as a man! So it def didn`t change my view on him!
