One of the biggest robberies of this century (so far).

 

Pac v Jmm was one. The feeling that Pac was a couple seconds away from knocking JMM out throughout the fight, won it for him. Can't blame the judges. I didn't score it, but I felt like Pac was winning for the same reason. But, watching it a second time makes it way easier to see that JMM won more rounds.

It's hard to get decisions when you keep winding up on your ass, sometimes multiple times.


Under the earlier three KD rule, JMM would have been stopped by Pac in the first round of the first fight.


And with that result, would there even have been a second fight ?

 

I would have to guess that most boxing fans watch fights that way.....they dont actually score it round by round with pencil and paper.

....and you're absolutley correct, JMM was winning the rounds, but the feeling from the 3rd round on was that Pac could land that big punch again......

.....the viewers did ride that 3rd round for that remainder of the fight, and forgot to actually take in that JMM was winning the rounds.

Chuchulain's post right above me is a prime example of the mentality of the non-scoring viewer.......the poor guy is still riding the fact that Pac scored 3 knockdowns in their first fight, and because of it, JMM should never have had the opportunity to school in that fight, and much less have been a second fight for JMM to exhibit his mastery.:rofl :rofl

i didnt see the arce fight
but the only one out of the rest i thought they got wrong was spinks -philips

 

I thought the Marquez brothers won their respective fights; no complaints about the rest.

 

The most blayant robbery out of all these was Spinks-Phillips.

I'm surprised more people haven't checked this one. Other than this fight however, Pac-Marquez, and Johnson-Dawson.

Try to read a little more carefully and stick to what's actually there (all of it indisputable FACT) rather than inject into it what you fallaciously infer.

Your post demonstrates a logical falacy. Yo try to infer what 's missing from what's there.

Because I mention the fact that under the three KD rule (not in effect in either Pac-JMM fight) Pac would have won the first fight in the first round, and hence there probably would not have been a second fight, (all true, BTW), you infer that I didn't score the remainder of the fight.

(I didn't even mention the judging error, admitted later, that resulted in a D in the first fight, rather than a Pac victory)

There isn't a shred of evidence in the post to support this.

I'm not at home and don't have my scorecard with me, but any fight I watch, I generally score round by round.

(Sometimes I repeat the exercise a long time later just for comparison).


While I don't have my round-by-round handy, I do recall that while I scored both fights narrowly for Pac, both fights were close enough that a draw would have been well within the realm of possibility in either one. And a narrow victory in either direction would have been acceptable in the second fight.

Overall, JMM is the more skilled of the two boxers and has better fundamentals.

Pac has more power and a better chin, is more explosive and slightly more exciting (subjective). For these reasons, I think he edges JMM most of the times they fight.
