The Halcyon Days of the Division's History. Wlad will be acknowledged as a top 5 ATG.

How it's currently seen. As another low era of HW boxing with a standout champion.

It’s already seen as better than it was, but as for the future, who can say? What comes in the years ahead has a way of shaping how we look at the past.

Peter isn't big in the tall/reach sense, and he sure ain't talented.

I’ll wait for Journeyman92’s studied opinion on that.

    As mentioned already.

A weak era lacking deep and substance, dominated by the Kiltshkos: one great champion and a half.

Wlad had a long reign, nobody can take that from him, but it was boring like heck, zero drama, no marquees fights. It was the equivalent of a conservative portfolio manager: zero risk, low reward.

Depending on how the tide moves, Wlad could eventually make it Top10. Vitale stays somewhere 20 - 30.

Well, he was viewed as such at the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad's rep grew.

You should check Wlad vs Purrity. It was Wlad's first loss but he looked quick and nimble, throwing combinations (including uppercuts) all night until he gassed.

Very boring with no real significant fights, the best fight either Klitchsko was involved in was against Lewis before the start of the era and AJ at the end of the era

I imagine in 20-30 years people will look back at this time similar to how people view Holmes dominance, a down period for the division that lost fans

dunno how you call a guy a dominant champion when full careers were held around him. That's pretty amazing. I'm sure future takes will be equally amazing.

IMO he's one of the laziest who did as little as possible to maintain position.

geez high standards…please eliven me Mr

how many heavyweight champions have beaten a “big talented puncher?” In your top 10?

Wlad has beaten plenty of quality big punchers, some of these men would be considered mammoths in other eras

    Lamon Brewster
    Hasim Rahman
    Samuel Peter 2x
    Alexander Povetkin
    David Haye
    Jameel Mccline

Near win at 41 years old over Anthony Joshua

    Excellent point.

Even ex-CW Haye was roughly the same size as fighters like Harry Wills & Nino Valdes, who were feared expressly for their size in other eras.

I mean, he wasn't that tall...it doesn't matter how you view him. As for his talent, go back and read the posts from those who pointed out how little he actually had going for him.
