In your estimation, is Vitali fighting just another Euro Bum?

Not a bum, but an easy win and payday for Vitali. I can hear Merchant asking him "why did you choose to fight him".

A decent European level heavyweight who, of course, has been happy to drop the belt for a big pay day.

    Should he be fighting Vitali?
Why not? It'll be his crowning achievment. To fight for the heavyweight championship of the world.

    Should Vitali be fighting him?
    No.
Vitali is head and shoulders above Sosnowski and should be fighting an opponent who is at least in the top ten and a more competitive match up.

I wonder how many tv companies will be buying up this nail biting blockbuster?

It must be stated that Valuev and Haye turned down larger pays days. Sosnowski is a fill in keep busy type of opponent.

I would say Sonsnowki is a fringe contender type. He's a lot better than a journeyman with multiple losses, or a bum with many.

It doesn't matter. Vitlai has easily defeated four top ten ring magazine guys in a row. The quesiton here is will Sosnowski give the fans their moneis worth liek Arreola did, or will he punk out and play it safe without trying to win like Johnson did?

The options in the poll are at both extremes. I wouldnt call Sosnowski a bum, especially given how far he has come so far with no amateur experience, he already surprised a lot of people.

But I also wouldnt say he will surprise anybody come fight night. I think Vitali will carry him for a couple of rounds then win by TKO.

Your right, I should have had another option or 2 to vote on. Can't edit a thread poll once you submit it...

If Sosnowski punks out in this one he needs to consider retirement. I would hope he could do more than Arreola.

I look at it like this.

Is Sosnowski a top ten guy? No. He's not. Top 25ish.

    Is he a tuneup? Absolutely.

Should Vitali be given **** for taking a tuneup? Probably not, champs do it all the time, look at ANY champ, really. Don't forget, for being as old as he is, Vitali has been REMARKABLY busy as a fighter, having what, 4 fights a year now?

And if nothing else, Sosnowski is a big lug who can crack. Let's see some fireworks, man!!!

All I have to say is, Who do you want him to fight? America keeps falling short as the Klit Bros destroy the best we have to offer. I say let him fight anyone with a warm body and some wins and hope for a good fight.

Yup. As a stay busy fight I can't really fault it. It's not like top-10 guys are falling over themselves to get Vitali into the ring. (Although I suspect Adamek would take the fight without any hesitation)

4 fights a year, that's everything you could want in a champ. Now it's up to the competition to step up and take a risk.
