I'm a big Cotto fan but he has zero credentials at JMW! He beat one of the worst champs ever in the Jewish kid I forgot the name and after he fought the shot for ages Mayorga. Arum moved him up to protect him from the new guys at 147 and to give him a title thinking about a rematch with Margo and maybe Pac down the stretch. Cotto is small and extremely overrated at that weight and he'll get his ass kicked by Kirkland or in shape Angulo if they fought
it's amazing how people to look into perspective around here. You are either goat in the making or a bum. Still the best place to discuss boxing though :nut
He is not Euro-class, which is a good thing. He has the ability to bring a title back to the U.S. He is definately world class, and he is getting better. I don't understand all the hate here. People say that Angulo punched himself out, but the fact that he couldn't take James out should say something about James. Kirkland outpunched Angulo and put the hurt on his body and head. Are some of these guys saying that body shots don't contribute to a guy being fatigued? If Kirkland was a Euro, he'd probably be considered the next best thing since sliced bread.
Don't rain on kirkland's parade! He is the only good thing happening to certain Posters. Gayweather just won by sucker punch, Andre ward is in his usual boring self, bradley is MIA, Mosley and hopkins are old beyond old.
I don't know how did you find the connection between Europeans and hate for Kirkland. Would you enlightened me?
Well, just the name Euro-class is an indication that Euros are the best fightes, which is not true. That is what I am talking about. All these Euro-***s on this time hyping up Euro-bums. :yep
No way. World class fighters aren't walking punching bags. Kirkland is a KO waiting to happen against a true world class fighter with any counter punching abilities.
Zakman? :blood Ok, name some 'world class' fighters in his division that will probably knock him out if they fight him. I repeat, 'world class' to me means being in the top 10 of your division, if we're talking about ACTIVE fighters. If there are only very few people that can beat you at your weight class, you are definitely 'world class'. ATG >>> Great/HOF >>> World Class.
No not necessarily but he'd **** up a lot of world class fighters...does that make him one by default?
Your definition of "world class" differs from mine. I don't look at rankings within a certain division, i look at the overall skill level. He will always get utterly clowned by anyone good boxing skills. He is just a entertaining fighter in the mold of Gatti/Ward/Maidana, etc.
