I've always thought the same which is further testament to his sensational defensive skills.

Michael Spinks chin is underrated because of his loss to a young Mike Tyson.

Can't believe that I'm the first to mention Steve Collins.

Rarely mentioned even though he was knocked down is Vito Antuofermo.
Larry Holmes old trainer Richie Giachetti said his best weapon was his chin
and Vito even broke formidable puncher Cylone Hart will in their brawl
by absorbing numerous bombs. Hart later said Vito had great chin.
All 5 Vito stoppages were because of cuts.

Holyfields chin is underrated. He took bombs from many best ever punchers and top fighters until the age of 52 years.

Yeah but it was more of a balance issue wasn't it. I seem to remember being on floor 3 times in that one

Hagler, Tua and Golovkin are the names that first spring to mind. Chavez sr. Toney.

LaMotta and Chuvalo both had stellar chins, but they were also stopped without suffering cuts or any injury. Duran was dropped a couple of times even at LW, but never seemed hurt by anyone besides Hearns, which is truly amazing seeing how many weight classes he climbed and the guys he faced.

The ring was slippery and he slipped. It wasn't a knockdown.

Ali Ali and Ali. With his resume to never be knocked out is incredible. Foreman, Liston, Shavers, Frazier, Williams, Patterson, Cooper, Bonavena, Etc etc etc so many great KO artists so many different styles.
