manny just became a more versatile puncher. People forget how reliant he was on that straight left cannon, when he started mixing it up(i.e, becoming a better boxer), he was able to express that power better.:thumbsup
That he has finally got one? The only difference is Pac has a right hand that can throw a hook or cross instead of just a straight left. He is also a bit more accurate now with both, especially his right. Look at his stats before Diaz and after Diaz. He was constantly in the upper 20s to low 30s connect percentage before Diaz. Diaz and after? Upper 30s and lower 40s. Now add the right and consider that ODLH, Cotto, Clottey and Margo where all taking cumulitive punishment and not early mid round TKO, then you see a difference. It is just really more accurate, especially with the right.
I was going to say Foreman, but I was on the fence about him, but i guess he did get more powerful when he bloated up in his 40's but he always had a lot of power
Those Azira shakes are amazing. Forget Pacquiao he has got Khan slugging it with Maidena and Paulie knocking fools out. those are some protein shakes.
His chin got way better, he defense got way better but I dont think his power did. I mean he still had his power but he had atg power at his prime too.
Yeah but he was going against bigger opponents now with chins like Margarito and then you have Clottey :-( Freddie would tell you that Manny has gotten more powerful also especially after Ariza came by with his new strength and conditiong techniques
I too was tempted by foreman.....untill i remembered what power he had when he was younger.....although mongoose foreman's punches were so slow and done with such little body movement.... the end result was just devistating!
ya that's what I thought also. If he did get more powerful then I guess it was because of the added weight, but he always was powerful
Anyone who gets bigger, or who climbs weightclasses, should get stronger. This happens when people get older. However, the impact of this is hard to judge. Simply, as boxers get older, they usually fight better opponents. You might be able to KO 8 of your first 10 opponents even if you have mediocre power, but you are unlikely to do that when you are fighting towards the end of your career, against better opponents. Also, as fighters get older, and bigger, and carry more muscle, they are also obviously going to be fighting bigger opponents with better punch resistance. So, despite fighter's power increasing as they get older, because the quality of their opponents and the size of their opponents increasing, they will naturally find it harder to get KOs. However, guys in their 30's don't hit harder as they age towards their 40's. Because their power is the last thing that leaves them, they may try to throw more powershots.
U WOULD SAY THIS....BUT AT LEAST U AINT HATIN, JUS SAYIN WHAT COULD BE TRUE AND YOUR OPINION, SO FOR FOLKS TO ATTACK U, THAS SOME BULL ISH
